I have a tall skinny baby and we switched to a convertible carseat for her. Since your baby is too young to ride forward a convertible would be your best bet because it will turn around when he is ready to face forward. It might also be able to fit him until he is ready for a booster. We use a Britax Boulevard which is more than your budget but the Evenflo Symphony has gotten great reviews and is very affordable. Chicco makes an umbrella style stroller called the Trevi. We have a Chicco Cortina and we love it. You could probably swing both the Symphony and the Trevi for under $300. Good luck!
