Just painted my living/dining room Coventry Gray and wondering how to accent it. Now I know: Gold! Or yellow, I guess.

The Coventry Gray reads as green-gray on the card or in some light but it's a bit blue-gray on the walls. I'm happy so far, though.

P-Patch is such a cute term! I've heard it from Seattle contacts.

We do have a similar thing in Toronto but it has the more prosaic name of 'Community Gardens'. There are also 'Allotment gardens', spaces in which you can apply for your own patch to tend.

The paint, the paint, can we find out what it is? Thanks so much.

Yes, please, Do tell us what the lovely blue paint is. It looks similar to Farrow Ball Light Blue but is maybe a tad blue-er (or is it the light?).

Lovely place!

Lovely bright place. Oh, Oxford!

I'm struggling to choose paint myself right now and looking at these same Farrow&Ball colours yet I'm having trouble telling which is which in these photos.
--Is the Pavilion Gray in the Kitchen?
--And is it Pigeon in the room with the antlers (In the very first, featured photo)? If so then, wow, it sure looks blue-ish instead of its usual greenish. These colours are so changeable.

Thanks

-- And MonicaK- they are a bit pricy everywhere I believe but the colour depth and coverage is great. I adore my Elephant's Breath rooms.

Wow, that IS beautiful. I was just at EQ3 yesterday and saw this sofa which is *similar* (and customizable):

EQ3 is Canadian (even made here) so maybe they'd ship to the US or are carried there.

I second (third?) the suggestion of the Heathrow express. It was amazingly quick. I'd also confirm the warning that you should allow 2 hrs to get through all the tunnels and queues back at Heathrow. But even 4 hours downtown will be fun and better than sitting at the airport. See if you can stow your carry-on somewhere, too.

I am in the same situation with all new, beige, builder-installed tiles and cabinets.

In my Beige bathroom I painted the walls a deep blue (Farrow Ball Railings) so the beige is a calm contrast (I think). If you can't paint, maybe a deep, dark hue in mat, towels, Curtains would help?

I adore the look of my estate emulsion (Elephant Breath -- heavenly! and everyone asks what it is) but it's only been up 6 months and I"ve already marked it up quite a bit. My friend who sent me to F&B in the first place uses the Modern emulsion and it still looks very matte so I'd go with that next time I think, for most rooms anyway.

I want to know what the brown-gray paint is, too. It almost looks like Benjamin Moore GRay Mountain but there are so many variations!

I agree with the post about convenience. Iam all for the multi-purpose guest bedroom. Ours is an office with a very comfy sofabed.

why not? We also hung one by Le Klint in our bedroom. SherryBinNH is right that it's not quite enough light for reading-- bedside lamps work for that -- but it's so lovely to lie and look at it.

I've had friends who liked Culver City, too, for the same reasons. Fairfax Village has similar advantages-- not the very cheapest but very convenient, walkable, but also pretty and cultural (all this in LA! ;) ) The local school is apparently OK.

My husband and I just had this discussion. We have a full office set up in the guest room but I've commandeered it as I'm writing a dissertation. We ended up agreeing to a *tiny* desk in the bedroom but to NOT keep anything on it. It is just to use for talking unexpected work calls or grabbing quiet time if the other rooms are busy.
