Italy is my favorite place on the planet. I took a mini-vacation trip just looking at these photos. And then there is the food...!! We are doing a kitchen and 2 bathroom remodel in Palo Alto, CA where we are considering using the 'American Clay' product on one long wall between the dining room and kitchen. I am talking to one of their authorized artist who applies the product to see if she can mix up a red for us. Let's see what happens. Their product is so gorgeous and the finished look is very similar to the wall shown above with the very rustic look.

This retreat is so exciting and the setting is so serene. Makes me long for a brief vacation. I love some of his unique details. Glad to see he is taking into account 'green' building issues. I recently got the Certified Green Building Professional designation for our design firm, but this is only the beginning. There is so much to learn.

In general, I love neutral colors and will use them in an instant on a design project. Some favorites are black, white, cream, grays and chocolate. However, we always like to throw in a splash of brighter color somewhere. A real departure for our team was a project in Palo Alto, California where the homeowner wanted us to start the color scheme with a bright orange speedcook oven. We used bright oranges, yellows and turquoise with glossy cherry wood cabinetry in her kitchen. It was recently featured at this link.

Modern eclectic is my very favorite style. And if you throw in a Japanese element, that is over and above. When our firm does kitchen or bath design projects in the Bay Area, we use that aesthetic whenever the client wants to go in that direction. If you add sustainable design and green products, you have arrived!

The house in this article is a great example and I am sure the homeowners are delighted with the end result!

This project is so nice. My favorite look is contemporary with classic elements and natural, earthy materials. Everything is done well and looks just great. Congratulations! My husband also has his architectural degree and our favorite style when doing home remodeling for our clients is clean contemporary with a Japanese influence.

The living space with the fireplace is so inviting. Love the colors and the white sofa is a very interesting touch. Some of these colors are at the top of the trends list right now. Good job! Would be great to see more photos of the home. The exterior looks very nice as well.

I really enjoy spotting trends. This one seems to have hit some of the retail stores months ago. Crate and Barrel had these 'old fashioned' Fall colors on display the end of last year as I recall. These are great colors, so long as they are combined with just the right complementary colors. The greys and deep browns shown in some of the photos here are just perfect. I hope to be able to combine wenge wood with lots of white and some grey in one of our next kitchen renovation projects. Perhaps our team can find a way to incorporate some of the pumpkin palette!

Cute kitchen in a great town. We live in Palo Alto and the weather is the BEST. I really like wood floors in kitchens. Either wood or stone tiles are favorites. Glass tiles for backsplashes are another favorite. I'm sure the homeowners will really enjoy this space.
