Oh how I can relate to this post except it was my parent's house that I had to say goodbye to. My parents passed away within a year of each other and my brothers and I had to go through every single item in the house. So many little things held so many memories. The butter knife that spread so much love for so many sandwiches made for school lunches (kept that!). The original oven that baked so many amazing pies and butter tarts mom made from scratch. The linen closet where mom would hide sweets.

I remember going through the house once it was empty thinking the last time it was like this was when my parents bought the brand new house and must have been so excited to have their first home and start their family. I wish it was bought by another family but alas it was a small two bedroom bungalow (yes three kids raised there) on a large lot and was torn down for a monster home. Only the cedars dad planted at the property line remain. Each year I go through the home in my mind scared that I'll forget this special place that holds so many memories of first dates, heartaches, love and laughter.

I think you hit it right with that list. I know for me it's nostalgia with Animal, Beaker, Bert and Ernie. On my computer at home I have a 3" Gumby I can't seem to part with. There are no designs I can think of that I hate- only ones I don't connect with.

Maybe they need to have different categories: licensed and then new designs under a year or two. That way both are recognized and appreciated.
There will always be a group of people who appreciate the uniqueness of the great artists on sites like Etsy and those who value the mass appeal (and big business) of a licensed design. We work hard at having unique designs in our own business. Different is good. :o)

Most of that is how we're living now especially since it's a small space.
Except I'm still waiting for my Rosie robot maid to come to the rescue! :o)

I'm fortunate to live near Vij's. Always an fusion explosion of flavours. LOVE it!

I second the light meals as we get away from the cool weather stews and soups.

Would love to see recipes with only 5 or 6 ingredients that are quick or easy to make. When it's a long list of ingredients for a recipe, I rarely end up trying it.

Hmmm... tumeric is a variant spelling of turmeric but after checking turmeric is more widely used. Will be updating it! Thanks DCarl1!

Not sure about the beds being right up to the blackboard wall but love the idea of giving such a large canvas to encourage imagination and art.

Love this color combo. Would not have thought of it and love the hits of red added in for punch.
