Found the dresser! It's a Wrongwood... or it looks almost exactly like one.

Ah! I miss this store! I used to go into it when I worked near the waterfront... it's so cool. I absolutely love this store!

I love almost everything about this kitchen... I have white, flat cabinets that I hate. I love the tiled back splash, the appliances, and the cabinets are dreamy! White kitchens are so sterile looking. I hate it. Thanks for the post!

I've been to Molbak's and I wasn't impressed... then again I always go to FURNEY'S in Burien. it's much closer for us who live in South Seattle, and although it's not as cheap as Carpenitos in Kent, it is cheaper than Molbak's and has a MUCH better selection. Plus, the people are super helpful! If you're looking for actual GARDEN plants, go to Furney's!

I had this same problem in an apartment. Pour 1/4 cup of bleach down every drain in your place and plug it up for 30 minutes. Then run water down the drains to clear them of the bleach. Problem solved.

When we replaced the carpet in our bedroom, we found urine stains from dogs and cats that lived in our house previously. We painted Kilz all over the subfloor before laying new padding and carpet, which completely covered any smell remaining. I am totally anal about not having ANY pet messes in my carpet. I smell, black light, natures miracle, vinegar, baking soda, steam clean... until it's gone. Thankfully my cat will go in the litter box even if it's totally gross, and isn't picky about any type of litter.

Did I Buy The Right Plants? A Plant Killer Starts Over

I've had those types of succulents at home before, and after a few weeks they bolted up and grew so tall and ugly, I finally just threw it out. I also have a jade that I keep in my north facing kitchen window. I only water maybe once a month, and it is slowly growing. I also have a mother-in-laws young plant which has survived on minimal care. It is actually flowering at the moment, which I think is sort of rare. I just treat I like the jade... Only watering it when the soil is dried out and it is about 15-20 feet back from a southern facing living room wall of windows, so I gets bright indirect light. You will do OK! just keep trying. Indoor plants are MUCH harder than outdoor.

I think the single most important thing you need to know when gardening is your zone. Then you can easily tell what plants you can use in your garden and decide if you want to try ones thy will need special care.

My mom always made grilled cheeses this way. In fact, I thought it was weird when my husband demanded I make them with butter instead! Thank you for showing me that my mom wasn't wrong, and I wasn't weird! Momma is always right!

Well I agree I applaud them for not going with the melamine cabinetry. I have it - I hate it. It's disgusting. White flat cupboards are the worst thing ever. ANYTHING is better than that! I'd say this kitchen is unique and very chic.

I would love to see a gardening or yard space page on this blog. There's not really a good representation of modern style gardening out there. Not all gardening is country style!

YAY! I wish I felt like I could do this, but with a three year old and not living in downtown, I don't think it would work. Whoever gets this job is so lucky!!! So excited to start seeing Seattle posts!

Seriously Consumer Reports? I rely on them for a NUMBER of purchases that I do, but this should have been a no-brainer. A Kirby is by FAR the best vacuum you can buy. My mother has one that she's had for almost 25 years. In fact, I'm a Dyson owner, and they are almost worthless compared to a Kirby. If you are looking for THE BEST vacuum, get a Kirby. If you just want to get the crumbs off the top of your carpet, get something else.

I found a compost pile turner at McLendon's (a local hardware chain in the Pacific Northwest). It's basically a pole with two "arms" on the end - you jab it into the pile and the arms fold in, and when you pull it back out the arms come down. It's very easy to use and is so much better than using a shovel!

I've had neighbors tell me a handfull of sugar while planting makes them taste more sweet; I've also heard a handful of salt!

Personally, I've planted my (ahem) 15 tomato plants with new topsoil, 1/3 compost, and topped them with red tomato mulch in pots. Hopefully they will be fantastic!
