@tequila red...so if we're going to be the grammar police...Packing is being used as a gerund (a type of noun) and light being an adjective modifies the noun. Rural and rueful was correct.

My oh my, whatever did we DO on airplanes to keep busy before the advent of technological toys like iPads and cell phones and Kindles? Oh, hey, yeah, I remember, we read books and magazines, talked to our seatmates, took a nap, etc.

It shows us that we must be way too into our technology if we can't be inconvenienced a little. I think disconnecting from the iUmbilical cord is probably a good idea once in awhile.

Yeah, yeah I'm a Gen Xer, so I'm not that attached to my technology.

I have a Chemex and a French press that's about 15 years old. I use the Chemex when I'm feeling lazy because it's so much easier to clean up! I have a diffuser ring that I put on my electric burners so I can keep the coffee hot over low heat.
The French press makes the best coffee, though it's a bit messy to clean up. Not bad, but not as easy as the Chemex. The press makes about 2 cups, but it doesn't have an attached bottom...it's just glass. It came with a plug in warmer that I lost years ago. It can also sit on the diffuser ring on my burners.

Either way...Chemex or French press. I'm not a drip (hee hee).

I had soffits in my bathrooms with God-awful fluorescent lighting in them. Knocked those suckers out easy as pie, replaced the fluorescents with nice bar lights from Home Depot for about $20, patched, texturized (it comes in a spray can!!!) and painted. Voila. Updated. Huge improvement in the light quality as well.

Basil doesn't like to be dry and rosemary doesn't like its feet to be wet. I've found that the basil dies off once it gets cold, even in the house. I live in the CA Central Valley, and we don't get cold, but that basil still dies. I keep thyme and mints in containers, unless you want it to be ground cover in the backyard, then thyme works great.
