Yes... excellent for de-glazing, brilliant for splashing into the bottom of your roast chicken pan to scrape off the yummy caramelized bits before making gravy. Mildly Tart, Non-Alcoholic Grape Juice? That's Verjus! Ingredient Spotlight |

While the optimum would be to get up and go for a walk, preferably outside, thats really not always possible for me. Because of my job, getting away from my desk inevitably leads to a 'oh... while you're here... can you...' even though there is a recognised procedure for requesting assistance. 4 Fun Ways to Destress at Your Desk |

We lost power for over 24 hours recently due to a storm. Fridge wise we followed the recommended discard/keep but for raw ingredients (meat/chicken/berries) in the freezer that had started to defrost, let them completely thaw (safely) and cooked them into things - mostly casseroles and the like which could be refrozen as a cooked meal. My dad (a chef) used to do something similar. He got some really really large builders nails - new and cleaned of course and would put one right through each potato and bake uncovered. They always turned out deliciously fluffy on the inside. Help! Why Are My Potatoes Exploding? Good Questions |

Can't help but wonder how long the printed labels will last in some of those photos. I've tried different kinds and applying at different stages of the freezing process but they usually end up falling off. The only thing that works for me is freezer ziplock bags (with their own label section) and a sharpie marker. 5 Enviably Well-Organized Freezers |

Taejin I saw that on a recent Hairy Bikers show - dropping the whole egg into the water for about 20 seconds then cracking the eggs to poach as normal. Been meaning to try this but haven't had a chance. Glad to hear that it worked (not just TV show - this is one we made earlier - worked). How To Poach an Egg: The Video Video from The Kitchn |

One of the things that impressed me was that it looked lived in. It looked like we've just called in to visit unannounced as there is still washing up in the sink and an outfit casually discarded over the top in the bed platform (even though there is obviously space for it in the cupboards). To me this shows that the space really works for him. Its not magazine (or AT house tour) perfect. Before & After: From Grungy Garage to Handsome Home in Bordeaux |
