you CAN, however, visit the Robert Frost Farm in Derry, NH where he lived from 1900-1911.

I bake with gluten free flour (bob's red mill has some great options) and Ener-g egg replacer...

be careful though as I've found some recipes just work better with real flour and egg!

I would contact SA Baxter or H Theophile, both in NYC. Either place will be able to fabricate the exact hardware that you want. Prices won't be cheap but the results will be amazing. I have worked with both and each company is great.

if someone shaddy enough to steal fruit from this tree a sign isn't going to stop them. I would set up a video camera inside the house every night to record what's going on out there when the fruit nears ripeness. let's hope it's just animals. I like the motion sensor light option as well.

it looks like you already have an amazing space and great taste. although I prefer your place NOT painted white it seems like the whole thing would work. just be aware that a lot of the lovely old details and charateristics of your loft are going to fade away into a sea of white. I would be afraid of it feeling too institutional and void of the lovely personality that it aleady has but it's your place

are you really ready to let all that character go just to focus on a sofa and some art work?

Personally, I think it's a bit cheesy the way it is...

I really really really cannot stand this trend. it just looks so anal and contrived. As an architect, designer, and avid reader it just makes my stomach turn. Books are for reading, learning, entertainment, and pleasure- NOT some freakish form of decorating- which in my mind totally de-values all that books and literature are about.

Sorry to rant, I am just so tired of seeing photos of this "color organization" everywhere. To each their own I suppose.

@ bepsf...
they can hide behind custom cabinets with metal or wood grilles (so the units have somewhere to pump the air through)- they disappear right into bookshelves, cubbies, etc.
have used these in multiple high end residences in NYC

there's also another bonus- the condensors (that sit outside of the apartment/home) can be purchased with an extra coil for heating. thus giving the unit heating and cooling options.

as forced air can be very dry its best that you install a humidifier into the system as well.

I wouldn't call Montague Street a "stuggling" commercial street. Maybe five years ago but not now...

I remember reading the magazine article about that whole apartment...
I believe that the futon was NOT in fact used as a bed- just as a place to lounge.

and I don't think it's a Selig because the Selig arms are flat and don't curve back into the seat of the chair like the arms on this one do.

Thanks for the feedback all--
I did look under them before I purchased them- no tags and the legs on both pieces have been replaced.

There are a few odd bolts here and there but they were clearly added on after the chair was made as they do not match each other and you can see where the bent plywood is splitting ever so slightly from the force of screwing them in after the chair was made.

I only paid $275 so it's totally a steal and I love it with all my heart no matter what.

Raven- thanks so much, I'm going to see if the ottoman and the seat are the same size when I get home today.

Another thing worth noting is that the two pieces that support the head rest and wood and I know that the real chairs have metal supports. I feel like these might have been replaced as well though as they don't quite match the bent plywood.
