We have #8 in our dining room. Great rug. Oh, and these outdoor rugs are perfect if you have a dog that sheds. Our corgi's fur used to get matted to the old rug. But with the outdoor rugs, they don't matt at all. And super easy to clean.

Agreed with the Rowenta comment. Once you go Rowenta, you don't go back. I'm on my 2nd one (it gets used every day) and I won't go back to those $29 specials. Ever.

Another vote for Doggcatcher on Android. It's fantastic. My favorites right now are NPR's This American Life, The Verge's Vergecast, This Week in Tech (they have several tech podcasts), and Savage Love. Podcasts at work get me though the day.

Love this room! Can we get a source for the bed? It's so tall!

We received TWO Restoration Hardware paperweight mailers. They both went in the recycling immediately. Who on Earth thought that was a good idea? Who is going to snuggle up on the couch with something the size of the yellow pages? Or a reference dictionary? Ugh.

I think it depends on where you are located. Are you in China? This is very normal over there and I lived with a 'wet' bathroom for several years. It was gross compared to the norm of having a tub/shower enclosure. Everything was always dripping wet (even a TP cover isn't perfect), all surfaces needed constant squeegee-ing, and the always wet floor looked dirty as I was trying to get ready. I think if you tried to implement that over here, it wouldn't go over well with potential buyers. And you probably wouldn't love it yourself.

Oh, and a shower has to be waterproof. In this case, you would need to waterproof the entire bathroom. That could be a lot of money depending on the size.

We picked up an American Standard dual-flush comfort height a few months back. After some initial adjustments we are really happy with it. As great as it flushes, even on the #1 flush option, it's their sani-gloss (I think its called?) that is so nice. 3 months now and we haven't busted out the bowl cleaner yet. I like me some low maintenance!

Is this similar in price to other quartz composite/recycled glass options? If so, is the cost not almost extravagant compared to run-of-the-mill granite? Granite has come down in cost at this point, but these alternatives, as pretty & eco-friendly as they are, usually end up around 2x as much as granite. I remember going a little cross-eyed last year when looking at the quartz prices at the store. We ended up with granite.

Who hand washes pots and pans? Are they that delicate? That's dishwashers exist. We opted for a tiny sink (about 16" wide, but 8" deep) for our new kitchen in order to fit a standard dishwasher. The sink might be small, but dishes go in the dishwasher. They don't pile up in a sink. It's SO nice!
