@furnituremover - thank you!!! I discovered the stump was a Kalon creation (in case anyone else was curious), but hadn't found the elephants yet.

Beautiful room! I'd love to know the source of the wood (for lack of a better description) tooth stool and the wood elephants if anyone knows.

@Chad M - I adore your home! It's modern, warm + inviting. The kitchen is especially lovely! I know your home tour was posted a few years ago (I linked through after seeing a photo of your kitchen from an Apartment Therapy posting about plants today), so I'm not sure if you check back at all to read the comments. But if you do, would you mind sharing the paint color in the kitchen? Thanks so much.

Love. Love. Love! My favorite so far. The white feels calming (I know I may be in the minority on this one) + the touches of wood add the perfect amount of warmth. Altogether lovely space!

People are up in arms about the cowhide rug? That makes no sense. The hides are a product of the beef industry, so your comments should really be directed at anyone who eats beef, not people who use the hides as decor. Anyone in the design or beef industry can tell you (although it should be obvious), cows are not slaughtered for their hides. I suppose we should eat the meat + throw out the hides? That sounds much more sensible.

I finally saw the line! Well... the three pieces they are carrying at my store anyway. I live in a small town so perhaps in larger areas the entire line will be available for in-store purchase, but my store only had the comforter sets and two throw pillows available. I was pretty disappointed. Not only was the price point higher than I was anticipating (comforter sets - twin $149/queen $179, throw pillows - $39 each, coverlets - twin $99/queen $129/euro sham $39, and sheets - twin $79/full $89/queen $99), but the quality felt okay at best. Not to mention the two things I was most looking forward to checking out (the coverlet + the sheets) had to be ordered through an associate at the store. Total bummer.

@mariyadessa - It didn't always have a window. This room was originally part of the back porch but a previous owner closed it in, making it a closet and installed glass block on that wall. When we bought the house my dad + my husband turned the space into an office for me and removed the glass block to put in a window.

thanks andrec!

I made the "you are loved" artwork using a Shanna Murray decal (http://shannamurray.bigcartel.com/), a small chalkboard, and some grosgrain ribbon. Super easy!

Thank you so much everyone!

The elephant is made by Color Zoo. I found him inexpensively on eBay, but you can also find him on Amazon as well.

The box inserts for the expedit are also from IKEA. They're called prant.

Thanks!

The light fixture was a thrift store find that was spruced up with some yellow paint.

The changing mat is the 30" 4 Sided Changing Pad made by LA Baby and it works great even though it says it has a width of 16".

Thank you all so much for your kind words about Atti's little room! It really warms my heart!

The curtains were made by a family member with Premier Prints ZigZag Village fabric in the blue/natural.

The artwork was all found on Etsy. The crying print is from Sycamore Street Press and can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/people/sycamorestreetpress

The paint color is Behr's Light French Gray.

Darling! I love seeing just how *few* things a nursery really needs.

And regarding the curtains, if the previous poster had read the linked blog you'd see that the baby has yet to be born so he/she won't be able to reach the curtains for quite some time. I'm sure the parents are more than aware of the danger the curtains could pose to an older child who is able to reach them. I always hate it when people assume that the parents who put together these nurseries don't have any common sense.

Beautiful home boys! I never thought I would be so smitten with mitered windows! And that car lift is just genius. This is one of the best executed mid century modern homes that manages to feel inviting and approachable. I adore it!

As far as the few negative AT comments, I second RonK's thoughts. I find people who correct grammar and spelling mistakes MUCH more annoying than the mistakes. And name dropping? Oh please. I found all of the information to be quite helpful. Also, the space is far from cluttered! To me, it feels warm and personal. Those snarky little comments just read as jealous.

thedevilisinthedetails: what a horrible, snarky, snobby, and completely unnecessary comment to make. And from the looks of your profile, it isn't your first.

More importantly...Ashley I love your take on the ostrich feather chandelier! Very creative with tons of different options to make it unique. I can't believe you did it all for under $12. Nice work ;)
