I love all of the cheesy holiday songs that play endlessly on the local Light FM Station ("I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas," anyone) and the mainstay Christmas cartoons and specials I enjoy with my family every year, even though we're all grown up by now. I live in Columbus, OH, so my favorite weekend getaway spot is definitely Chicago, which is a reasonable drive away. I'm usually very careful about avoiding spills and messes, but once I was carrying a case of Pepsi up the stairs to my kitchen when the bottom fell out (it had gotten soggy from the rain when I was carrying in the groceries). Cans proceeded to fall out and before I knew it several had hit the stairs and landing, piercing them and sending sprays of soda every which way on the walls and carpet.
