We do something similar, but simpler. We have the litter box in a closet and just leave the closet door cracked. It doesn't have to be cracked much -- just enough for the cat to open the door. Thank you, everyone for the lovely comments! I was a bit nervous to post my place on here, but am happy to hear your feedback. I know that bird decals and lego blocks aren't everyone's thing, but I like my home to feel a bit playful. The nautical theme goes along with that -- we wanted to bring in a bit of the Lake Michigan kitch. Our high rise was built in 1960 and it just seems appropriate. I'm so glad everyone likes the bedroom set. I've had it since I was 11 (!) and until about 5 years ago, it was a cream color with gold trim. I tried to strip the paint and it wouldn't budge. And so I decided to paint it. It made me fall in love with the set all over again. Thanks for the rug suggestion -- I think I'll actually look into getting one. Oh, and for those that want their own lake view (and live in Chicago), the Edgewater neighborhood is fabulous. And not too expensive, either. i love seasonal products in general. peppermint is a favorite, but so is gingerbread flavors and eggnog. anything that i can only have one season of the year makes the season even merrier!
