I bought a bottle, then realised I don't know how to use it. This reminds me to google some recipes. Thanks!! Ziyad Pomegranate Molasses |

I have 3 of these, one for drying hands, one for drying dishes and one for hanging my counter wiper microfibre cloth. They never get mixed up and at the moment my kitchen s of a size where 3 is just right. I did consider one more for a spare towel but then reminded myself not to be an idiot. I'm so good at OTT. For me the biggest problem is cooking dinner that is nutritionally balanced and interesting enough for my 18 month old daughter. It also has to be something the hubster and I can eat. Preferably it should take a short time to prep and cook. Your Biggest Kitchen Problems?? 2013 Reader Forum |

Oh dear. This post was begging for an a$$ kicking. I think rich n beautiful women with lavish abodes, picture perfect kids and lifestyle (cooking) advice don't go down well with most people and their idea of reality. She is stunning, so is her family, the pics rock and I for one thought her blog was nice to view. I'm however still loving smitten kitchen more than the fancy blog. Perhaps substance wins over style. I started reading Debs blog before she got married. I was living in London (single) then. I followed her when I moved to Dallas (married) she had just had Jacob then, and now that I'm in Vancouver (a mom) I'm still following her. Just looking at her kitchen makes me love her a little more, and its always good to see Jacob in the posts. Keep up the good work Deb, congrats on the book and hope the book tour goes well!! This was last commented on 3 months ago. It's October 2012. Since my marriage 3 years ago in 2009. I have cooked chicken about 10 times. Im a rinser, always have been and so is my mom and other cooks in our family do the same. I cannot imagine not rinsing off the slime and smell, it just makes sense to do that. As people have mentioned its not just the bacteria of the chicken or meat, but how it has been handled and that is of a huge concern to me. So much so that I think I am slightly phobic about cooking chicken at home. I still cook minced beef or lamb. But am so put off by the info out there. This bloody chicken fecal soup is a disgusting practice and the reason most of us rinse is because we know that the slaughter methods aren't exactly 100% sanitary. The post above has put me right off chicken. Why does what we ingest have to be so disgusting? wish I could source real organic chicken slaughtered in humane and sanitary conditions. I'm going to be a royal p.i.t.a., but all these soup related posts are overkill!! Some roasts / spicy food recipes would be fun. I don't like soup at all. I must be the only person I know who isn't a fan How To Make Easy Chicken Noodle Soup Cooking Lessons from The Kitchn |

I agree, it depends on the temperament of your oven. At home in uk we used to cook pizza in the middle of the oven (gas) to get the right amount of crisp crust with a nicely cooked top. In Vancouver I put the pizza on the topmost shelf of our electric oven. Now I just need to get a pizza stone for the authentic thin crust that I love. Baking Pizza: Top or Bottom Oven Rack? |

Love this. I often find 'alters' which in my minds eye, are stunning, worthy of reflection, of a moment or two of stillness. Such alters can be found anywhere but you're right. The kitchen is one such place. I know it's such a thing, when my lips betray an enlightened smile and my heart tingles. The gift for me is that the alter miakes me happy to be alive and in a state of mind where I can appreciate beauty in all it's forms. Little Altars Weekend Meditation |

In Asian culture, a grand niece can be as close as a grand daughter. It all depends on your relationship. My grand aunt (grandmothers sister) is as loving and as devoted to us as her sister is. My grand aunt is not a distant relation. In fact culturally we refer to her as grandmother too. A family link is just that. No need to read too much into it. For when we have baby number 2. I am gong to freeze up a month or two worth of food. When my daughter was born we were so overwhelmed with our high demand precious bundle that we didn't always get to eat healthily. This was bad because I was breastfeeding and didn't get enough nutrition. After a very healthy 9 1/2 month pregnancy i was on a nutritionally bad cycle and I only breastfed (and supplemented with formula) for 6 months, after which she was on formula full time. Next time we WILL have a deep freezer and I'm sure I will find some good varied recipes online for us to freeze. I also hope I can get to 1 year or more of BF with baby number 2. This is without doubt a nightmare scenario. I remember we sent my brother a tiny fridge for his use during university. It was housed in his dorm room. The fridge was decent enough for a student to keep some essentials like milk, cans of drinks, butter and a few other essentials. The freezer was teensy. It allowed you to harbour ONE ice cube tray tops. As for your champagne being cooled enough for impromptu guests, I have a fab idea for you. A bowl which is at least half the height or more of your bottle, fill half way with cold water and add as many ice cubes as you can (if you can), it will cool down in 20mins. The secret is to keep stirring the bottle for a bit. It works. On Learning to Live With a Tiny Freezer |

Oh my. Just discovered bulk cheese, namely Gruyere at Costco. Will be dumping that for sure into this casserole. Am wondering though, how does the frozen-defrosted version turned out compared to the 'fresh' version? Thanks for this.
