I was only diagnosed with celiac a year ago, so gluten-free travel is a fairly new experience for me. I've a few recommendations. First, I have an app for my iPhone called GF Restaurant cards (created by www.celiactravel.com). They have a library of restaurant cards in many, many languages (including Bulgarian!). I flew British Airways last month, and was able to request gluten-free meals when I booked my tickets online. I have to say they were the best airplane meals I've ever had. Finally, many European countries are much more used to requests from gluten-free diners than in the US. I was in Oslo over Christmas, and every restaurant I ate in offered me GF bread when I told them of my dietary restrictions--that has NEVER happened to me in a restuarant in New York City. Finally, I've found that supermarkets in Europe have gluten-free sections--and even if you don't speak the language there, many products are labelled in several languages, so you can usually figure out the ingredients fairly easily. Does anyone recognize the wall lamps in his library? MSL doesn't give credits for those and I've been looking for something similar. Kevin Sharkey's High Over the Hudson House Tour |

I think what people tend to forget when painting a bathroom is: how do YOU look against the color you are painting the walls? I tend to like a warmer white or ivory--in the case of your bathroom, I'd probably go with a warm white or a very pale yellow. I've been using Farrow & Ball paint for years, every time I repaint a room, and I also love the colors and the quality of the paint. I use Modern Emulsion (better "wipeability" as Pilgrim stated) for most rooms since it is much more durable than the Estate Emulsion. Love the low VOC's. I have similar color tiles in my bathroom. I painted the walls Farrow & Ball's "Pointing" which is a warm, creamy white that looks better against the tiles than "rental white" and is less of a contrast with the peach. I prefered going with a light color to keep the room bright (since I don't have a window either). I've used teak-colored accents (West Elm bamboo shelf and Ikea picture frames) that also play off the warmer aspects of the tile color. My shower curtain is a solid creamy white--I'd rather keep it simple than to add too much more color to the room. I don't even notice it screaming peach anymore.
