We have the Thackery Chesterfield from Anthropologie. We got it in the gray this summer, and while I wouldn't say it was worth full price (we paid $1200), we are really happy with it. A couple of the reviews mention that the cushions are hard. This is true when you first sit on it, but they soften up after just a couple of days of use. I'm sure it depends on your preference, but I find it a million times comfier than our old overstuffed couch.

Ha! We collect LEGO too, so I love this! Great to see it in a great looking environment.

If you look at the pictures of the closet with stuff in it, you can see the scale of the pipe a little better. It looks like 16 inch pipe, maybe even 18. That can definitely take a bath towel, no problem.

I thought I loved ours at home until I took one to the beach. Holy cow, it is the perfect beach towel!

They're so worth it. We got ours on fab.com and I think they were in the $30 range.

Meant to add, you had to call for this no charge delivery. It wasn't advertised anywhere on the website. I'm not sure if she ordered it from the houston store or a warehouse, but I'd suspect the latter.

We have lovebluebag.com in Baton Rouge.

But my parents found out that Ikea delivers some items to certain markets for no charge when they were buying me a gift (the red PS cabinet) for Christmas last year. I guess they've realized that a lot of their market is out of towners, and they want to take advantage of it instead of driving theit business elsewhere.

I painted the walls and ceiling in my stairwell TWO YEARS AGO. Except I couldn't reach to get the corners up near the ceiling with my ladder. It has taken us two years (to the month) to get the motivation to figure out a ladder solution and fix it. We had big plans to do it this weekend.

Last night my husband called me and said there was water soaking through the ceiling and down the walls, right where we were going to paint. Our air conditioner is the culprit. At least we didn't paint it last weekend?

What Are You Putting off Repairing or Replacing in Your Home?

Tetegrondona, you really just need anything that has a lot of surface area (tiny bumps) for its size. If you could get a carbon filter or activated charcoal, that would be great (although it may be TOO big). Even beach sand would work.

Whoa. I know this post is way old, but we have one of these tools at my pottery studio and I had no idea this was what it was for. I've just been using it to press spiral=-ish patterns in the clay. I can't wait to use it with glaze!

As we're getting older we definitely prefer better quality stuff over "disposable" furniture. But we're tending to buy more vintage pieces (at least for non-upholstered) than new, because they're just so well made.

Bringing your styles together can be so hard. And sometimes really disappointing. I had a really hard moment last week when a friend sent me a link to a company that makes my dream headboard (wicker, peacock detailing, over the top) for under $200. And I just knew I couldn't do it. I thought back to an article on here about a couple that lives in two small houses on one lot. If kids weren't in the future for us, I think it would work well. My house would be very, very pink.

We replace our sponge pretty often, because I get grossed out by them pretty quickly. Good to know I can clean them in the dishwasher! And I'm going to use the pillowcase trick on our ceiling fans tonight.

We go through a lot of kitchen towels. I keep one by the sink - "the clean one", and one by the oven "the dirty one". The sink one is clean enough for wiping hands and dishes, but the one by the oven only needs to be clean enough for grabbing hot pans, wiping up spilled sauce, etc. When one of them gets a little too dirty for its job (once a day at least) the dirty one gets tossed in the washer, which is right by the kitchen, and the clean one gets downgraded to oven duty. We get a fresh one out for dishes/clean hands. It's really worked well for us.

We have one in our dining room. I painted it a flat charcoal gray (thought it was black when I picked it, but the gray is a happy accident), and I love the original brass hardware. We decided to display our everyday dishware rather than our fine china. We have fiestaware, so there's a ton of color and SO much extra storage space. I love how casual and bright it is.

We have a cast iron cornbread pan that belonged to my husband's great grandmother hanging on the kitchen wall.

I still use it (and her recipe!) every time I make cornbread, but it's nice to have it on display everyday as a reminder of love, family, and the warmth of homemade bread.

I really don't like this as a replacement for the Craigslist roundup. I realize you're wanting to get the AT Classifieds off the ground. But in doing that you're missing a huge portion of the country. The entire South and huge swaths of the rest of the country are completely left out.

The Craigslist round up used to be the only post I reliably clicked on every day. Now I'm not sure if I need to keep AT in my reader.

@luckyluckie, Ilove them for everyday use, but my husband doesn't like them. He's just to used to big fluffy towels. I love them because they dry so fast. We live in a really humid climate, so it makes a big difference as far as how many uses we get out of them.

K.M., I thought the same thing, but the Sugru could hold it in place a little better for washing. Plus, since this is flexible when applied to fabric and totally washable, I think it opens up a lot of opportunities for people who don't have sewing skills. Very cool!

One of the notes says they'll be closed for renovations, so they may not be worried if they're repainting or doing something with those walls anyway.

Either way, painting over an area that size is easy enough. It takes less time than putting up and taking down an actual Christmas tree.

I'm thinking about doing this for my cousin's bridal shower, but I'm planing to dip it in paint - which kind will be safe for serving food I'm not sure yet. But since it doesn't have to last through a washing I figure I have a little wiggle room.
