Ha! Pi, you might have a point. Let's just say our relationship has strained since I've had children. She doesn't realize they are MY children to raise. Not hers. Being undermined for 5 days and 4 nights is stressful enough. (Not to mention the recovery period where my children forget I'm the one in charge, the week after she leaves.) Adding her cat to the mix was beyond my limit of being a kind hostess. There is way more to the soap opera of our relationship, but I'd hate to divorce my MIL because of a feline. ;-) Overnight Guests: Can You Just Say No? Reading My Tea Leaves |

It all depends on the person asking. My childhood friends that have a small baby and always have her mother? No. I don't have the room and as much as I love them, I love them best in small doses. My in-laws? Happy to, even though my MIL grates on my nerves sometimes. I did draw the line last month when MIL asked if she could bring her cat. Um...no, I'm sorry. That just will not work in our house. Awkward! (Who asks that?!?! Seriously!!!) But glad I stood my ground, as 5 days and 4 nights of my in-laws is stressful enough. I wasn't going to add her cat to the picture. Overnight Guests: Can You Just Say No? Reading My Tea Leaves |

We own. Have for 8 years now. But now that we have children, sometimes I wish we didn't. I think we could save about $400 a month if we rented something just one room smaller. We don't have neighbors that listen to loud music or heavy walkers living above us. But we have to handle our own maintenance/repairs and mow our own grass/landscaping. Sometimes I'd rather rent than deal with that mess. I'm Renting...And Okay with That |

In the early 90's I had a tiny 1BR in downtown Wichita, KS. It was an old 1920's hotel turned apartment building. On the 8th floor, with huge wide windows, glass door knobs, French doors into the bedroom and huge walk in closet, and the pretty black and white octogon tiled bath. *sigh* SO beautiful! I didn't appreciate it well enough back then, but I'd have given my right arm to have a home with that much personality today! Tell Us: What Was The Best Rental You've Ever Had? |

We bought ours for $200. A small one with a fort, a sandbox below, a slide, rockwall, ladder, rope ladder, and 2 swings. We just power-washed it, no stain was really needed as the wood was in good condition. I too was afraid the kids would get tired of it, but they haven't! I really always tried to be a nice neighbor. But there are some neighbors that will complain no matter what. Those folks...you can't really do much about, other than move. Tips From My Super: How to be a Good Tenant and Neighbor Renters Solutions |

Well, if I understand correctly, UA isn't all local...but it is all organic. I just joined UA a few weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the produce we got. It makes menu planning a little tricky, but I just look at it as a lesson in me needing to "go-with-the-flow" more often. :-) Urban Acres: Dallas Co-op Style Produce |

Another tip on grilling asparagus: freeze it for about 10 minutes before you grill. They stay crispy when you cook them...they don't get soggy. You'll never cook asparagus another way after this! Grilling Tip: Use Loaf Pans to Carry Food to the Grill |

The small bag is only .4 oz and the large one .9 oz, so the extra weight is neglible. Adorable and green. I love it! Reuseable Bags and Tea Towels from Wonder Thunder |

I love toile. But my main style is more of a mid-century mod with an Asian bent. I'm not sure how I could incorporate it without it looking really odd. I would love to figure out how to blend it. Toile: Explained and Explored |

Adorable home. But I'm another one that thinks your cat is the best part. He looks EXACTLY like the cat I had in my first marriage, Travis. Beautiful, attitude and a total CHATTERBOX! Talked all the time. Loved to sleep on my bed, but didn't snuggle...just would touch me with one paw all night. Precious boy. Katherine & Jem's Haphazard Collectedness House Tour |

A little too passive-aggressive for me too. Although I've had a roommate before that just did NOT get it, no matter how many times I asked/begged/pleaded/demanded that he help clean. I say just find a new place. Messy Roommates? Shamed On Facebook! |

Go vintage. What you purchase will be about the same price as something at West Elm, but a much better quality. Be patient...nothing worse than buyer's remorse.
