One way I save time is to cook extra portions and freeze them on the few days I have time to cook a full meal. They come in handy on game and practice nights, or nights when we get home too late to feel like cooking. The worst mess was the pervasive one; we remodeled over a period of months and there was a ton of thick white dust that got all over the household (drywall, etc.). We'd vacuum and wipe repeatedly, but just couldn't get rid of it. Finally when we were done the project, we had to go through each room and wash absolutely EVERYTHING.
