No criticism of the owners, who are lovely I'm sure, but I found the opening commentary ridiculous and annoying enough that I didn't want to look at the rest of the house. The last thing a city that has trouble housing its teachers, firefighters and police officers needs is a bunch of Victorian homes crying out to lose two more affordable living spaces so that we can indulge in delusions of nineteenth-century glory. Architecture is meant to serve us, not the other way around. That amount of square footage in Boston is just silly.
