I've always wanted to finish an attic so it could be turned into a space like this.

I live in a port town. More than once, while helping friends renovate, I've discovered the stairs are made of old shipping crates.. Unfortunately the wood is too rough, so it either has to be sanded down (removes cool labels) or we had to put carpet over it again.

A set up like this can be done with a mac mini. It's sort of like a mini roller desk. Just be sure to make lots of ventilation holes, as they get quite hot.

Here in Canada, the best before date on a carton of eggs is rated for room temperature storage. They last well beyond that date if kept in the fridge.

I once rented an apartment with a fridge that had an ice dispenser, but was not hooked up to water. I filled the compartment with frozen blueberries, and made a little "blueberries" tag to cover up the ice button. It was such a great way to start the day, using that to coat my cereal bowl with frozen fruit.
