I live in NJ where shoes indoors seem to be the norm, but mine come off before I even take my keys out of the door.
My husband, on the other hand (and even after 5 years of pleading) insists on wearing his filthy work boots into the bedroom before peeling them off.
I'd really prefer guests to remove their shoes in the foyer, but no one ever does.

Our "new" house was built in 1898. It has been and will continue to be a huge project (think A Brooklyn Limestone in Progress), but the details make it worth it.
We've got pocket doors, glass knobs, a dumbwaiter, a fireplace in the kitchen, a few stained glass windows, and loads and loads of bay windows. And what is currently our tool shed was actually once a concession stand for an 1870's amusement park.

I'm struggling with mint right now. In theory, I love it. In practice, not so much.
I spent weeks agonizing over the perfect shade of mint for my office before I finally chose Sherwin Williams' "Gratifying Green," and I HATE it.
