My Dad took an old dresser and put a beautiful granite top on it. I use it to cook on, eat at and I store all my kitchen towels and bathroom towels in it! It's my favorite piece of furniture. More Bang for Your Buck: Double-Duty Furniture Ideas |

I think this challenge is a great idea especially because for many it's not a challenge it's a way of life. I had to pay my way through college and that left little cash for food. I really like everyone's points that pure, unpackaged food doesn't have to be expensive. The idea of spending less gets people to focus on the basics and to purchase foods that sustain your body. Most of the pricey foods that we think we need are all the extra "stuff"...quick sauces, dressings and packaged foods that may not be healthy and we could easily make ourselves. I used to work at a health food store and it bugged me when a family would spend 20+ food stamp dollars on sushi nori! Education is key in this situation so maybe this challenge will inspire people to think differently about the way they spend money on food and how to make our dollars go further. I begun a gluten-free diet months ago and feel great. In doing so, I've been experimenting with alternative pastas. I have yet to try Annie Chun's but absolutely love Tinkyada brown rice pasta as well as Quinoa pasta. I prefer the texture and taste of quinoa. http://www.quinoa.net/145/index.html New from Annie Chun's: Brown Rice Noodles |

Those drinks look fantastic. My favorite martini includes lemon juice, agave, sweet vermouth, vodka, and minced ginger (make sure to strain out before serving). Absolutely delicious. Also, I've had a lavender martini that was pretty tasty! Recipe Roundup: 20 Summer Cocktails with Fresh Herbs Straight Up Cocktails and Spirits |

So I came across this last night when I needed a recipe for my ripe bananas! Surprisingly, I had all the ingredients so I got to work. I used blackberries as well as blueberries. I don't have a mixer but the recipe turned out just fine. The frosting is delicious! Recipe: Blueberry Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Icing | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

Most recycling centers will not recycle plastic lids but Aveda accepts this type of hard plastic to make their packaging. I've been saving lids for months now and it's crazy how many I've accumulated. I'm glad Aveda puts them to good use! Eco-Friendly Cosmetics: The Packaging Matters, Too!
