I'd love to do this with simple wooden shelves added - to highlight little bright colored objects, flowers etc. Not too cluttered. What really does it for me is how the windows "contain" the design, which then breaks away for a more rustic DIY feel. It's awesome!

Oh yes! I don't know about waking up to Gonzo in the room, but maybe in the bathroom! Always good to laugh first thing in the morning!

I'm decidedly pro-acrylic. Small battle scars are usually hard to spot, can be buffed out with a polish like Novus, and are easier to live with than the time & money spent replacing broken glass or worse - replacing/repairing the art in a busted frame!

In fact at http://www.wexelart.com we've even gotten rid of the frame part and gone straight to the beauty of the glazing.

Acrylic is 20 times more shatter resistant than glass. I do like using glass for smaller framed pieces. As a former custom framer, I can attest that we had a lot of leftover glass in small sizes and could give you a good deal on it.

Our hardware is SO much nicer since this early installation. The custom order division is so popular right now! Keep those imaginations spinning! And, as far as dust: these frames clean with dish soap and water, if you ever need to really clean them. A dry, lint-free cloth takes care of occasional dusting and fingerprints :) Thanks for a great review.

Amazing. There's nothing like some serious restrictions (can't build upward) and requirements (passion for sustainability) to get the most creative and beautiful results. Responsible, but better yet impeccable use of space!

I understand about having your back to the busy windows feeling strange. I'm sure someone with feng shui expertise could say why. I'm sure some good drapery to partition your home from the outside world (not sheers!) will put you at ease. From the floor plan and photo it's hard to see how a sectional won't take up the entire living space. I like the Tillary style, but wouldn't load up on it. Definitely utilize the corner between couches for a small table or storage. That's all I've got for now. Good Luck! I'll always remember my first desk. Gave me a sense of duty, or something. I started creating books like a real author/illustrator. BRAVO! for recognizing she deserved this.
btw, MarshallO, I think you've missed the point entirely.

Both the pop-up basket and sheet seat are great examples of how resourcefulness can lead to awesome design. Virtually no material waste - brilliant!

Love the idea of potato salad with dijon. I like casual tapas. In one container you can keep chopped veggies. Another container of hummus or babaganoush. One with chopped cheeses and fruits. Add dressing and pita bread and you've got plenty to nosh on. It feels like you're eating more, too.

Chair pad, underwear, blankets - this idea can go so far beyond better marriages! Better world!

OK, And LOVE the faces of the stock-photo couple on the upper left. Bet they never knew what they were up for when that photo-shoot paid off.

I wholeheartedly agree. Especially in a little art studio where the tendency is to want to buy more stuff to create with - I don't let myself until I've used up more of what I've got.

By the by, I'll say "Wowie Zowie" after I've finished cleaning up my tiny studio.

Calorie is not a bad word. "High-fructose-corn-syrup" is (ok, it's a bad phrase). So, all cookie and no filler makes me happy. Also, snacking makes me happy, and happy equals healthy. So, as long as those 200 calories are all legitimate sustenance (what's that, a 30 minute vigorous walk to burn off?) I don't see the problem.
