I did this project and it looks really good. Here are my modifications:

1) I did this with a Crate and Barrel box. It worked, but the cardboard was a little thick. I had to use pliers to slide the clamps on the back into the slots on the frame. Stick with the pizza box.

2) I used an old t-shirt that I never wear for the fabric. It was a dry fit shirt, so the fabric is a little thinner which probably helps.

3) I didn't have spray adhesive so I used binder clips to hold the fabric to the mat.

4) I didn't have a utility knife so I used scissors. I wish I had a utility knife. It's difficult to prevent frayed edges when you are cutting with scissors.
