I am not sure what you mean when you say "dealing with it". You are very lucky to have found a place with parquet flooring, which is an absolute art piece. Enjoy your floors because they don’t make beautiful floors like these anymore. The wall color is ugly, do the white theme, it will work very well with such lovely flooring!!!!!!!!!!

The word derives from French parqueterie (from parquet). Large diagonal squares known as parquet de Versailles were introduced in 1684, as parquet de menuiserie ("woodwork parquet"), to replace the marble flooring that required constant washing, which tended to rot the joists beneath the floors.

My husband and I moved from Chicago to Sydney and we did the same thing. We sold almost everything we owned, and just kept a small storage space. Then we went travelling for 8 months around the world. It was one of the best experiences of my life!!!! It was so nice to get rid of all the stuff and travelling and starting new in another country was something we always wanted to do…..good for you

I love this home..it is my style, clean and simple. I love the fact that it is a clutter-free house. That is the type of house that I feel comfortable and at piece. Who needs a bunch of furniture filled with stuff????

I agree, the bookshelves are way too busy. The living room feels dark and the two chairs and table on the corner remind me of grammas house, maybe is the fabric. The kitchen looks 1950’s. The only fabulous space is her closet!!!I don’t get it; this apartment does not reflect NYC or the fabulous life and good taste of Big and Carrie.

I grew up in the north of Brazil and in my culture every home or apartment has a hammock, in the bedroom or living room. I have slept in a hammock many times and it is very comfortable. It is so cozy and I would love to have one here in the US.

Last time I moved the movers broke my microwave, I decided not to buy a new one. I has been a year and I have never missed the microwave. I think it is one of those things that you think you need but you don't. I cook all my food which is very healthy.
I have a dishwasher because it came with the apartment, but I never use it. It is unpractical to me.
I do not use paper towers and I only clean my place with white vinegar/water and baking soda.
I live in a 1 bedroom 900 square feet apartment with my husband and recently I decided to sell all the things we don't need or use on Craigslist. I was amazed on how much stuff I had that I did not use.

I would have a gallery of pictures. Maybe you can print some of your favorite pictures black and white or color, in different sizes. You can go to a flea market/Salvation Army or an inexpensive store and buy all kinds of frames. I think you can be very creative with the frames. Buy frames that don’t necessarily mach but complement each other. Maybe spray paint them all the same color. Mixing with mirrors could be interesting as well.
