I'm living below minimum wage after decades of working -- caring for bf during his terminal illness wiped out my savings. Living very close to the bone, in college for the third time to earn an accounting degree (at least all the basics from my previous undergrad degree counted!). I don't regret my sacrifices, though: I can look myself in the mirror, unlike some other people I know.

That was a great film and what fueled my interest in the area.

My bf chose one for the bathroom he custom-designed because he was in a wheelchair and a pedestal sink allowed him maximum access. I'm replacing it seven years later with another one that has a more aesthetically pleasing base and a built-in towel bar. I'm fortunate to have storage elsewhere in the bathroom.

Why was the fridge photo separated from the rest of the kitchen shots? I'd just finished admiring the bathroom when it popped up. Keeping room photos together is just good organization.

I bought two of their huge hand soap pump bottles while visiting Raleigh in May and refilled them with Mrs Meyers hand soap I bought via the net. Like you, though, I'd like to be able to buy refills at TJ's, especially of the lemon kitchen soap.

This is how I drink wine, minus the fruit -- I had stomach surgery a decade ago, which affected how my body absorbs alcohol.

Given the reference to the outside of the house, I'd have liked a few photos of it. The one window shot didn't do it.

I shop several local home interior stores, rather than RH or other trendy dealers, because I live in a rural area that RH would prefer to ignore. Which is fine with me -- their prices are outrageous. The one time I walked through a Resto, it took all my self-control to keep my jaw from hitting the floor. My local shops deliver for free and provide well-made items manufactured in the US.

My house was in such bad condition when I bought it that waiting to paint wasn't an option. The never-finished wood floors had to be finished, the 30-year-old roof had to be replaced and the equally-old walls needed paint. Had we waited longer, it wouldn't have happened, given how quickly bf's health crashed once we moved in.

I really enjoyed this, and it helped me deal with a current worry in the storage department. Being back in school has actually curbed my need to buy things, mainly because I'm so busy keeping up with assignments that I don't have time for much else. Also, seeing what students are paying for one- and two-bedroom apartments in the medium-sized town where my university is, I feel incredibly grateful for my sturdy brick fixer-upper a few miles away -- rent is twice my mortgage! Makes me understand why some parents just buy a condo for their kids.

Love this home! My parents and I lived in a trailer for four years while they built their home, and it was a good experience. The only disagreement I have with Rebecca & Dustin's home is the gas stove, but I'm terrified of gas anywhere. It doesn't help that my business law prof told us about bringing suit against an appliance store who sold a gas stove that exploded and killed the buyer :-(

I signed up for the Cure but failed to consider the fact I'm a full-time student once again. A media fast would be welcome but unlikely for me, since most assignments are now done electronically. (The last time I was in college, the Internet didn't exist.) I'm saving the emails and hope to follow through in May, when the semester has ended.

Shortly after buying my tiny first home, I visited a friend who had a gorgeous three-level beachfront place. She also had a four-hour commute, an uncommunicative live-in boyfriend, could only reach her home via 4WD and dealt with nasty, threatening tourists blocking the beach (an official NC highway) during the summer. Not to mention an ENORMOUS homeowners insurance deductible. I enjoyed my visit, but on my way home I was so grateful for my tiny, landlocked piece of suburbia.
