Considering how much I have to wipe my lower white cabinets with a dog, cat and teenagers that would just seem impossible. I might as well store them on the floor. I totally love the look but it really wouldn't be feasible in my house.

I'm GenX and have a large vegetable garden and have done a little landscaping at our house. I garden early in the morning or in the evening to avoid sun. I buy heirloom, non-gmo seeds online, so I am not out at the local farm store buying seed. I do can and freeze a lot of our harvest. I also give away starts to people and help them start gardens.
I live in a cottage and don't have money nor inclination to have "perfect" landscaping like my McMansion friends. My neighbor down the street is a Boomer and retired, she has a simple,lovely garden-and time to tend it. I plant perennials for low maintenance and cost. I have three teenagers, a job, and autoimmune disease, so my gardening time is limited.

HA! My family teases me relentlessly for doing this. It's the cold version to french fries in soft serve ice cream. I know you do that too.

I live in a rural town and getting gluten free flours isn't always easy. Our local grocery has expanded to 4-5 Bob's gluten free products, enough that I can get by until an Internet order arrives. Love the millet and rice flours, make baking bread and muffins easy.

I have old pieces from my great-grandfathers house and my mom. Rolling pins, rolling mat with pie crusts sized on it, hand beaters, meat grinder, serrated melon spoons, and old Dutch oven from the 70's. All still work great!

My great grandmother must have been way ahead of her time. She'd save all the tins from pot pies and make us each our own. I'd love to make an individual pie in the lattice mold.

I have made Clothilde's cake too many times to count. I have used many types of yogurt, although vanilla and plain are my favorite in this. As far as oil, use whatever flavor you wish, it will work just fine. You can throw in berries, nuts, cocoa, etc. If frozen, make sure to toss in at last minute and barely fold in or your cake will be blue/pink/whatever from the juices. Not that I care, still tastes delish. Cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg are lovely with orange shavings or juice.

I live in the Midwest and just got my garden in the ground last week. Didn't start any seeds inside and already have turnips, broccoli, beans, zucchini, cukes, and radishes popping up. My melons, peppers, okra will take longer to sprout, but harvest in August. With hot peppers we pick them at different stages, depending on how much heat we want.

I buy small tomato and pepper plants to start out as my soil hasn't been kind to the seed. I am also doing 4 long planters for lettuce mixtures and scallions. I grow herbs inside all year and move them out in the spring a few hours a day until they can stand all day long.

I have bought an old feed sack made of burlap filled with dirt to grow potatoes in this year, hope that goes well.

Cherry tomatoes, jalapenos and bell peppers can grow in containers, just make sure you get it big enough for the root system to develop and to stake the plants. Think about the size of a 5 gallon bucket for the tomatoes (but prettier if you'd like) and half that for the peppers.

Use borax, vinegar, lemon juice and and hot water. Cheap, simple,effective.
