I have the same jar of truffle salt! Make sure you don't take too long too use it, mine already has no more flavor :(. Granted, it's been awhile, but you don't use a lot at a time, so it lasts forever. I like it on eggs too, and mac n cheese. Pantry Must Have: Can You Guess What It Is? |

I'm on the Sea Smoke and Cobb lists, love them both! Also a fan of the Red Car "Trolley." I'll definitely check out some of your sonoma coast recs, love their pinot noirs. Excellent, Interesting California Red Wines to Gift |

Slightly OT, but wet and dreary in LA (you mean Los Angeles right?)?? What part of LA are you in? It's been gorgeous, sunny and hot all week. There was a random brief thunderstorm a few nights ago, but that was all of 15 mins. A little hot for ratatouille; I haven't been able to bear standing over the stove the last few days. Always: I was thankful to have a landline during 9/11 and during the blackouts in NYC a couple years later. Cell phone lines were jammed during 9/11 and a lot of people's cell phone batteries died after a couple hours during the blackout (blackout also taught me to keep ample cash as ATMs went down and credit card machines did not work). We used Martha Stewart's recipe for our memorial day bbq and it was perfect! Not too sweet, just a little too easy to drink. http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/white-sangria Try This Tonight! White Sangria | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I just had dinner at Gjelina on Saturday! My favorites were the roasted sunchokes with salsa verde and hen of the woods mushroom toast. I also had oysters, grilled chicories salad with egg, grilled squid, olive, chile and anchovy pizza. I wish I had a wood burning oven at home! Cooking more at home definitely helps; you know exactly what goes into your food (vs. at a restaurant). I try to always use as much fresh, organic, local foods as possible and will tinker with / combine different recipes to reduce the use of more high caloric ingredients, using lower fat subs if possible. Exercise is also key (yoga 2-3x, run 1x, walk the dogs everyday). But, I also don't deprive myself, if I want cheese, I will have it! How Does a Food-Lover Maintain a Healthy Weight? I also tried doing this after seeing a post about Aubrey and Lindsay on designsponge a couple months back; I just using an ebony stain for a more black / white look and matte ringpulls. It looks nice from afar, but the dressers are too small proportionally to a king sized bed. I wish they were a little deeper and I have issues opening the drawers (in addition to painting the face, I also painted the edges which was probably not a good idea as they now stick together).
