I made a plum & ginger upside down cake, (http://bit.ly/dfKqA0) I think the key to a successful upside down cake is a cake component that has a heavier crumb to stand up to the soup-y fruit on the top but isn't leaden on the palate, i like to add a spicy or herbal note to keep it interesting Upside-Down Cakes: Beyond the Pineapple |

...do you think that carrot greens would make a suitable pistou? I have a ridiculous amount of beet greens left, and was hoping to make soup. If I could use up the carrot tops at the same time, I would be thrilled... Can You Eat Carrot Tops? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

-I recently snapped the knob of my dutch oven off, (please don't ask, I don't even know how it happened, I reached for it and clunk! handle in my hand) It was a gift, its not a LC, and I only got to use it once. Is there a way to repair a snapped off knob since it won't touch the food? Chipped Enamel: Need to Replace This Cookware? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

a slice of decent bread with a smattering of salted butter, and some thin sliced radishes. The salt keeps the bite of the radishes from being too much. I usually eat two slices if I have some herby-rosemary bread. Late Night Noshes: What’s Your Favorite Midnight Snack? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

Home Ec was a half-year mandatory class in my middle school, paired up with a half-year of wood shop and computer drafting...Actually, while wood shop was not my favorite, Home-Ec was the only place I've ever successfully made crepes....or sewn anything with a hidden zipper correctly...they also taught us laundry care, which was very beneficial. I just recently became a fan rose, I used to shy away because I couldn't believe it wouldn't taste like white zinfandel (NOT my thing) but I had some lovely grapefruit-y rose at a wine tasting at my local wine shop and Im totally hooked...I have a vintage chianti pitcher, that works much the same way (with a seperate resevoir for ice) Im so excited to fill it with rose now...I can't wait for Friday.
