ugh - can we all just say 'no' to celebrities posing as chefs/artists/clothing designers? That's great that she eats healthy and likes food but being wealthy and having access to top nutritionists, chefs, and trainers doesn't constitute being a chef or author. I'd much prefer to get similar recipes from people who have dedicated their time and careers to making that food in the first place. In my opinion, her website and books reallly just exemplifies the cult of narcissism. This is an amazing space! Wow! Kudos. Also, I happen to like seeing the towels on the door -I personally would rather see how people really live rather than something that resembles a catalog shoot. Lauren's Resourceful Style Bedroom My Bedroom Retreat Contest |

I don't like the fact that the actual content is squeezed in to a little box between the table of contents and the ads - which have equal amounts of space. It feels sort of like a railroad apartment - narrow and somehow less enjoyable. Shouldn't the actual content have mroe presence (size-wise) than the ads? Welcome to the New Apartment Therapy! |

as an artist since childhood, I can attest that a basket of fresh supplies is always great but there is also a line of Eye Can Art kits that look pretty cool and age appropriate. I've seen them online and in independent toy stores. Gift Ideas for 9-Year-Old Interested in Art Good Questions |

just fyi, my daughter - also Lucy - abhors anything pink and purple so this is ideal. It s nice to see people branching out of the traditional pink. If it has a doll, pink, or glitter on it, my daughter will run screaming and yet everything for girls her age - clothes, toys, bedding -seems covered in the aforementioned! brown paper lunch bags. Pour in just the kernels, fold over the top a couple times ( maybe a half inch fold?) it woun't be sealed but it works just the same. I pop for about 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Pour in bowl and add melted butter or olive oil or whatever you choose. So easy! (p.s. this is from Alton Brown's method). Look! Microwave Popcorn Without the Bag! |

I dont think it's high and mighty to suggest eating real food instead of fake crap. And I dont think anyone even mentioned gluten-free or organic in this case. Just high quality versus prepackaged ingredients you can't recognize or pronounce. Have you seen the obesity in this country? It's not like people are eating just a smidgen of nutella and then healthy homemade meals the reast of the day which is the difference between this country and many others ( generalization but still there is truth to this). Yes they eat chocolate in France and beautiful pastries - but they are more often balanced by high quality ingredients and balanced by appropriately portioned, more or less made from scratch meals. Asa chocolate fiend I think the occasional indulgence is fine but not the processed food part. Smitten Kitchen and other sites have recipes for nutella-like spreads with purer ingredients - chocoalte and hazlenuts sans the whole extra sugar, corn syrup, or querstionable oils. My kids eat waffles or toast with acouple drops of honey and I love to indulge once in awhile (ok, more!) but let it be natural, good quality ingredients like dark chocolate and you're both enjoying and not consuming total crap. ugh. goop. where gift ideas include $1000 wallets for your loved one. She is not a bad person, is obviously intelligent and likes good food but over-exposure (really, you need to be a pop singer now?!) and pretending to have hints for the rest of us is just too condescending (not to mention ego-driven). I'm a sweets fiend and yet I find cake pops ( home made or starbucks) pretty disgusting personally. The mashing together of all that interior stuff just makes it look like something my toddlers would make after playing with their food. Will Starbucks Kill the Cake Pop? I ate at Vij's years ago and it was soooo delicious ( albeit a long wait - the place was packed!). Beautiful meal and interestingly, the women who cook are also vegetarians so the fact that the cook beautiful meat dishes are doing it all with other senses instead of taste. I have an insane sweet tooth, esp. all thigns chocolate and I have to say, I don't get the cake pop craze! they honestly taste pretty gross to me.
