I read the news online, but I prefer to read magazines and books in their print version. Having to spend almost all day in front of a computer, I can't even imagine reading books digitally. There is something wonderful about holding a book in your hands and turning a page.

It just looks like a showroom to me. Over-designed houses usually lack personality. To each their own, but I much prefer a house with bit more originality and warmth. It's merely a space filled with expensive products.

While I agree that a low-water yard is the only thing, which really makes sense here in California, I don't quite share your enthusiasm about the facelift. It's a bit too grey for me. It looks cold and stark. But it does have great potential.

My two dogs telling me: "Finally, finally you are home! Let's play!". A friendly yellow wall, and a calligraphy by Thich Nhat Hanh saying "This is it" (meaning there is nothing but this present moment).

Living in California, we can dry our clothes outside on a line probably 9 months out of the year. I love the act of hanging up clothes outside, it's almost like a meditation for me. During the summer they dry much quicker than in a dryer and smell better as well. It's better for the environment, cheaper and a great opportunity to enjoy a little sunshine.

I would add the zen alarm clock. It's so much nicer to wake up to a a chime than a loud buzz.

@ angie_marie - do you HAVE TO hunt to feed your family, or do you CHOOSE TO hunt to feed your family? I somehow have a hard time believing that this particular family would starve if they were not to hunt.
I also don't quite see the beauty you seem to see in a weapon used to kill.
Regardless, I like the idea of the tray and the photo in general (apart from the rifle).

Great idea! But I wonder about the staging of the shot. A rifle? Really??
