This basement just looks too busy. If you are painting the floor slate grey, leave it as that, dun add the lace pattern. Paint any wall you can, white. Even the fireplace, it looks Flintstoney and in a bad way. And that hideous black and white curtain?! Is there a window behind it?! Have it in plain white, cream or cool grey (but lighter than the slate grey). Ideas for Badly Needed Budget Basement Apartment Redo? Good Questions |

Remove the mirrors behind that corner shelf. Paint the walls a medium grey. And depending on how much light you would like in your living room, choose white + darker grey or white + red (to match EAT and shopping cart) curtains. To make it look sharper, I would paint the shelves, above and below the TV, black. How To Make Living Room More Industrial Modern? Good Questions |

Maybe not white, paint the walls a light, bright blue, to bring out the white in the cabinets. I would change the mirror and hang a proper piece of artwork, the colour of that wood does not match all the other browns. And the style of the thick frame looks dated, so is the pendant lamp over the breakfast table. Ways To Revamp Kitchen with Full Reno Coming in Two Years? Good Questions |

I think Pinterest has discouraged me from shopping. Because I pin them, I feel like I already own them. But if I do need to buy anything, my boards will be a good reference to what I already love...like if I need an LBD for a friend's wedding, there's 2 or 3 pinned to my style board. Style is definitely more important to me. Quality is appreciated but if you can't bear the sight of it, let it go. My sister gave us a huge, modern, round, white coffee table but it didn't fit in with anything. We could spare the space, but I managed to convince my mum that having Grandma tripping over it was too big a risk. But frankly, it's because there was nothing else white or round in the living room. We were later given (I think, by my sis again) a much smaller, pine, rectangular coffee table. It was perfect! Quality or Style: When Compromise is Necessary, Which One Wins? |

Just looking at this picture...yeah I'm not into karate-chop cushions. But also, if I have to move more than 2 cushions to sit on a sofa, it's way too many cushions. I also do not like all-glass display cabinets. Maybe one is fine if you collect transformers figurines or something, but more than that, I fear I'll break it just being in the same room. I also can't stand fake flowers. My mum is crazy about them and I have to put with it; my living room and kitchen look like a columbarium :( What's Your Design Pet Peeve? |

Yes I can't agree more! I love vegetable soups, esp cream of broccoli and tomato + capsicum + carrot, so this was a very good investment for me! And I've also tried to have some yoghurt by making strawberry-banana smoothies. I've also used the whisk for pancakes. Haven't used the chopper though, I prefer my spices pounded and my garlic/onion chopped. The #1 Multi-Tasking Gadget You Should Have In Your Small Kitchen Reader Intelligence Report |

I would place the bed at an angle, on the left. The head of the bed, preferably with a high headboard, will be to the extreme left of the narrow wall, and the foot at the start of the curve. You can put a plant or shelves at the corner behind the headboard, or store suitcases. In front of the bed, at the curve, place a round table and seating. You can have your home office or a more formal dining area in the kitchen. So when you step in, it looks big and spacious. I would prob place the TV either beside the big closet or at the wall adjacent to the big closet, depending which one has less reflection. Seating can be a 2-seater and a couple of armchairs. Keep coffee tables small, so it's easy to move around as you deem fit. Living/Bedroom in Curved Studio? Good Questions |
