Such a great post! I have been learning to pack light myself and it is amazing how it easy it can be with just a little thought and planning. You should check out http://www.1bag1world.com It gives a ton of info on packing light including packing lists and gear reviews. These people have been everywhere and can help you pack appropriately! I have those applecore things and they are just ok. The smallest one works really well for headphones. The medium ones are just a little too short to work for most cords, like cell phone and ipod cords. The large one is too large for this things though. And they make odd bumps in things. I use them, but wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. 12 Useful Tech Tools for $5 & Under |

I have the Trident Kraken for my Droid X. It is a beast, but I could drop my phone off of the roof and it would be fine. Everybody is amazed at how much bigger it makes my already huge phone, but it took no time to get used to and I love it. Form v. Function: The Mobile Device Case Dilemma |

I have discovered there is no perfect solution. We have slipcovers and just last week I realized my cats were clawing the couch and not tearing the slipcover, but still shredding the arm underneath. We mix tabasco with water and spray it on the areas of the couch that the cats like to claw. And we try to provide them with their own scratching post to give them other options. As far as the fur, we just vacuum the couch every week when we vacuum the floor. It seems to work the best. No matter what though nothing is perfect, you just have to find what works best for you and your animals. Suggest Pet Friendly Fabric & Couches? Good Questions |

I went from Blackberry to a Motorola Droid X and love it! I have yet to find anything my droid can't do. Yes, it is a little clunky, but that huge screen is so worth it. Want to read a book? watch a movie? You'll appreciate those extra inches. And with Verizon you have much better coverage than AT&T. Everybody I know that has a Droid phone loves them as well. You can let the rice cook longer, just wait to add the shrimp. I would even hold off on the tomatoes. I would do all of step 1, but let it cook for about 45 mins. Then step 2. Before you move to step 3 though, taste the rice to see how done it is. The shrimp don't take long to cook so I would make sure the rice is pretty much cooked before adding it. Also, don't forget to stir it well. This may be why some of your rice is done and some isn't. Good luck! Help Save Our Rocco Dispirito Brown Rice Paella Good Questions |

Go to somebody else's house! My parents got a divorce when I was in college, not to mention that they were 4 hours away. I started going to Thanksgiving at my roommate's parent's house. 8 years later, that is now my Thanksgiving tradition! Thanksgiving Traditions When You Are On Your Own? |

I think it is cool to do plain white plates (which you can find at Ikea, Walmart, or restaurant supply stores) but then pick up salad plates or bowls from a thrift store. By mixing the different smaller plates with the larger white ones, you can give your table some personality and color. Also, garage sales and flea markets are a great place to find stuff. I found an entire set of NICE flatware for $5 at a garage sale. Affordable Dinnerware for Hosting First Holiday Dinner? Good Questions |

We are shoes-off which is evident by the pile of shoes at the door. I don't know that I would ever ask people to take their shoes off, but most do when they get there. Shoes On or Off in the Home? |

I have windows that go all the way to the ceiling so I have a similar problem. My solutions was to use a tension rod (shower curtain rod) in the windows. If you took the blinds out, then you might have space for it. I also hemmed my curtains so that they end where my windows end. You don't get that long drapey look, but it still works!
