Cucumber cream cheese sandwiches? Are you kidding me? This is the type of bad food that people joke about being at corny baby showers.

Cooked anchovies can be made more palatable. In fact, there are some things that I wouldn't do without it (like say, a puttanesca). They add a distinct salty, nutty flavor and isn't fishy at all. You just want to dice them and brown them in olive oil and they essentially disintegrate.

In my neighborhood we can put compostable items in our yard waste bin. I keep a small steel pail lined with a compostable bag (BioBag is the brand I've found) on the counter. I just dump the waste right into the pail as I work. It's like the garbage bowl concept, but when you're done you can put the lid on the pail and set it aside until it's full. The lid has a replaceable carbon filter so it never smells.

A few of you think that cooking an egg is simple, liking adding sugar to coffee or tea, but even this video didn't quite get it right. Cooking eggs perfectly is a difficult task that takes a lot of practice.

I'd recommend a fry pan (not a griddle), more butter (enough to baste the top of your egg to cook the yolk), and lower temperature (because browned eggs are more a personal preference than something one would teach others to do).

Think something like the iPad, but perhaps slightly bigger; but waterproof, indestructible (such that you could use the device as a cutting board and put it in the dishwasher). Wipe it off and take it into the living room for some Scrabble.

Generally speaking, for a healthy diet, higher fat foods are eaten at breakfast.

"Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper."

So my guess is that as a result of this old adage, chicken hasn't naturally worked its way into our culture the way that pork has. Chicken is a bit on the lean side.

Additionally, I think chicken is a bit fussy to cook in the morning when time might be a concern.

It also doesn't reheat as well as other, fattier proteins.
