In addition to what others have suggested, I've managed to solve any mouse problems in my rental units by figuring out where they're coming in and blocking the hole. In the past it's been behind the stove and through an old utility hole. Having said that, I must admit that having a cat will help with this. My last cat would sit patiently (for hours) in front of the area where they were entering, so I didn't have to work very hard to find the location once I realised I had house guests...

I can't win with succulents. I've killed two in the last three months. I don't have control over the heat in my apartment and it gets unbelievably warm in here this time of year. I keep telling myself it's the extreme heat, when really, it's likely that I can't figure out an appropriate watering schedule.

I'm going to throw my support behind the Furminator, as well. I lock myself and my cat in the bathroom and go to it. Afterwards I vacuum everything up. One good brush usually lasts a few weeks.
