How can you pick just one? For me, it depends on where it comes from as to which flavor I grab. It's Ice Cream Week at The Kitchn! What's Your Favorite Flavor of Ice Cream? |

This is a weird one...but I lived in a really cheerp place once with some electrical wiring on the outside of my unit. Two months after living there, my electricity went from $15/month to $250 a month. Electrical company would do nothing. The month after my next door neighbors moved out, it went back to $15! I am sure they were somehow tapping into my wiring and I was paying for their electricity, too. This is the same place that, the day I moved in and went to order a pizza for my friends for helping me move, I found out that the pizza places wouldn't deliver to my neighborhood because it was to dicey :/ I moved out the day my lease was up! 10 Renting Warning Signs |

Interesting post, lol. I think some of this is class-related...I don't have a flat screen tv, so I still have a tv stand with drawers and shelves for my tv, dvd player and *gasp* vcr, lol. I also have bookshelves, a hope chest, and piano and would have a hall tree if I had the space. My aunt still has her record player console and I get it in her will, lol. I've only had a laptop for a year or so, so I have my large desk with keyboard tray and don't see it going anywhere anytime soon, lol. So...it isn't all going away for us all, lol! I'm sure it also varies by geographic region and by age. Once Ubiquitous Furnishings We've (Mostly) Left Behind |

I have just...obscene...amounts of yarn and fabric. Rather than beat myself over the head for it, I decided to think of it as smart planning. When the zombies come, I'll be the one with all the supplies to keep people in clothes for years and years *mwahahahahaha* Are You a Home Project Hoarder? |

Woohoo! Orange and green are my two favorite colors (have been for oh...over 10 years at least) and my whole house and, well...life...is orange and green :) Glad to know I'll be trendy for a few months, lol. Trying On A Trend: Green and Orange Rooms |

I don't think rumpled means messy. I "make" my bed every day, but all that entails is pulling the duvet cover up to the pillows and maybe flopping the sides a bit to get it to puff back up. I love the soft, rumpled, cozy look and think that platform beds with precicely folded corners and everything tucked sternly under the bed look so cold and stark and uncomfortable. it's just an aesthetic, not a value judgement on messy vs. clean :) Elegantly Unkempt Bedding for Messy People Shopper's Guide |

I just recently became par of the cult of the duvet, lol. I can't tell you how luxurious it feels to me to pull that duvet up over me at night, the crinkly feathers inside, the soft down, the puffiness. Hearing the cats try to walk REALLY TALL as they traverse the other side of the bed looking for a place to lay, lol. I LOVE it :) I got a queen cover and two shams online...I think it was Amazon...for around $60. I LOVE it so much. I'm thinking about getting one or two more at Ikea, because they're only $35 there and they have several patterns I love. On The Problem With Duvet Covers |

I used to use the chair method, but I recently redid my bedroom and the chair is now on the opposite side of the room. I bought an over the door hook set-up and that's where I hang my jeans, work pants, bras, etc. that have been worn once or twice or even three times, but can still be worn again :) My closet is narrow, but pretty deep, so I can close the door to hide them, but they don't interfere with the all the way clean clothes hanging in there :) I love it and will never go back to being a chair person again! 5 Ways to Keep Worn (But Not Dirty) Clothes Organized |

As a water snob, I have to say that every single metal water bottle I've tried using, kleen kanteens, ANY of them...leave a metallic taste to the water. I have to use glass bottles for this reason, which is a bit of a pain. But at least my water doesn't taste like metal :) Plastic-Free Food Storage Alternatives |

I agree with offbalance...I'd love to do this, but have a side-by-side fridge/freezer and there's no way a cookie sheet would fit in there, even if it weren't full up with food :) CSA Box Tip: Blanch & Freeze Winter Greens |

I shower in the morning. I sleep alone, but with two cats. I have always changed my sheets whenever they feel funky, which is usually a week to a week and a half. I have many different sets of sheets...I'm a bit of a sheet whore, lol...so I change them more often than I wash them...then I do a big load or two of all the sheets in hot water and have a linen closet full of delicious sheet sets to start all over again :) I usually change my mattress pad every 3-4 sheet changes. I usually wash the blankets on my bed every 3-4 sheet changes, as well. How Often Do You Change Your Sheets? |

@ listen missy - I had the same problen for years. I'd lay three, four pairs of jeans on the back of my desk chair because they weren't done being worn, but I didn't like putting them back in drawers when they've been worn once or twice. It always drove me batty. Well, I just recently got an over the door hook thing (it hangs on the door and has 5 hooks with balls on the ends) and I hung it so the hooks are inside my closet. Now, I just hand up the pants by their belt loops, the bras by their straps, etc. Then, I just close the door and voila! No droopy, messy pile of clothes sitting around in my bedroom :) 5 Steps to a Permanently Cleaner Bedroom |
