We live about a mile away from this great company. They provide a fabulous product, and keep thousands of tons of food waste out of the landfills while doing it. Unfortunately Vermont Compost is in danger of being shut down. We have the convertible Ikea bed and absolutely love it. My mom gave it to my now 14 year old for his 5th birthday. It was used for two children after him, and is still going strong all these years. Our 5 1/2 year old currently sleeps in it. We've never heard any complaints about comfort. In fact, I've even napped on it myself. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh \| Good Questions: Toddler Bed or Twin? We painted our offices in Auro paint (an entirely plant-based paint). We also used their plant-based floor finish; beautiful! These products smell wonderful too. You can find the line at http://www.aurousa.com/ AnnaSova (http://www.annasova.com) makes a gorgeous line of food-grade paints. The drawback with these is that they aren't scrubbable, however they can be coated with a beeswax-based finish if desired. I love this idea in tandem with sewing the rest of the fabrics onto a blanket, or into a quilt. Of course there are those special pieces I just can't resist saving for posterity or "for the grandchildren." I have a dress that I used to wear when I was about two, and am glad my mother saved it for me. I even have a pic of my two year old self wearing it.
