The 2009 White House Holiday Decorations … So Far | Apartment Therapy DC

Dear Jenny,
'Seriously, please.' is NOT a proper sentence...
neither is 'Snow globes, not snow globe's.' ,
and 'ad' is short for advertisement; the proper spelling of the word is 'add'.

fab earrings...kidding!!
under a clear glass plate on a holiday table, even between a solid dinner plate and smaller glass salad plate!

In theory this should work as well...soak them in hot water then press between two small bowls until dry-they should hold the 'bowl' shape and can be used to serve candy or nuts ( obviously larger ones )- maybe spray starch might help!!

ground your kitchen with a big ass table, preferably counter height to use as extra work space/island and flanked with stools on the outside for eating/entertaining!It's hard to know your style but i would go for something chunky and rustic to contrast the slicker built ins.
A modular sectional will help fill the rest of the space and use a decent size area rug to ground the 'living room' area creating a visually different space.Mix some heavy rustic pieces with slicker chrome/glass , thick rugs and comfy sectional with lots of cushions for a cool industrial lofty space thats still warm and cozy. I would add some color to the walls other then white which can be harsh and stark in a big open space, either a warm grey or tan color playing off the concrete floors tones.

Love your woodgrain 'Gatheringspriggs'
I did tons of this kind of work when I worked in the film industry and it's nice to see someone doing it well!! It's not for everyone but you walnut looks so realistic!!

LOVE the pear green as long as there's some overflow of green into the LR( like some brighter green toss cushions on the green sofa, or a blue/green print)- I love that combination and it works with the character of the house- try painting the back of the glassed in bookcase in the blue for fun!!
...they grey is nice but safe and much more traditional( but matches the cat...)
...the orange is more daring then the others and will dictate orange accents in the LR to work overall, very mod sixties maybe a bit of a stretch in a character house although it picks up the tone of the wood bookcase and floor.
...the yellow/gold, not so much!!

make sure the surfaces are all cleaned well, use something to degrease them like TSP...use BINZ Primer, they make a water wash up version that will stick to anything!! Best product for top coat as it is a high trafic area is melamine which is about as durable as you can get, scrubbable washable etc...it comes in lots of colors or can be tinted ( light colors only)- it isn't water soluble but will last forever- an alternative is to use a good flat latex for color then seal it with a top quality polyurethane like Varathane Diamond Polyurethane in semi gloss or gloss!!
This is what I did to my similar doors and they look amazing!!
I went a step further and stencilled a grey woodgrain over a white background then sealed with the polyurethane...love it, looks like styalized birchbark and helps camouflage a not so perfect surface...
