The prices are for the originals. Not the knock offs, unlicensed copies or even licensed copies. So, don't get too dreamy about a wad of cash from selling that Czech-made knock-off of your "Wegner" folding rope chair. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | "How Much is That Chair Worth?" I can totally relate. You all have far more restraint than I would if confronted by one of my dream items at big sale prices (a swedese lamino chair, a blu dot Nick dining table and a blu dot strut coffee table). If either of them goes on sale; I'll jump on them. Thankfully, I have some cash in reserve if they become available at sale prices. These items have been on my list for a long time though; so, I know they are not fleeting desires. Apartment Therapy Boston | Recession Realities: The Rug That Got Away Do You Have a Wish List? |

I've seen similar work by Claes Oldenburg. However, they would cost many thousands of dollars. You may just want to take a Japanese brush class and make your own similar paintings in the spirit of DIY month. Apartment Therapy DC | Good Questions: Identifying Art in Designer Bedroom? |

I have used Simple Green with good effect on plastic Elephant Stools. I think I bought the stuff at Target. It's a relatively mild all-purpose cleaner that cuts through grime. Spray it, rinse it off--no scrubbing. Not sure if it will cut through the scuffs. Of course, you should alway test it out on a hidden area to be certain that it does not ruin the plastic. There are also some automobile products out there, but they tend to leave a film that can cause damage to certain plastics when exposed to light. I totally want the Nick Table in a white lacquer as well--that table seems pretty much like a Nick with white lacquer, the lines and leg details look exactly like the real thing. Unfortunately, it seems too beautiful and expensive for me to buy the cherry or walnut table and have it lacquered. Maybe Blu Dot will issue this table in some of their great colors. Absolutely! I would watch that show in the early days in our basement rec room with my dad. I think the show instilled a can-do ethic in me with regards to tackling home projects. It planted a seed in me that probably led to the purchase of my first ramshackle house out of college and other subsequent ramshackle old houses. I never thought that I would say this, but I'm feeling scandi-overload lately. Too much white and blond wood in these rooms. They all seem overly staged and do not exhibit any sort of diversity or originality in their furnishing and decorations. Maybe it's just a Thursday thing, but these apartments actually made me grumpy. Strange. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Apartment Inspiration from Alvhem Estate Agents |

Besides the light. It is interesting to note the balance in these rooms. The furniture is edited down to the comfortable minimum and there are few unnecessary object cluttering table tops. I also love the balance in the furniture between modern and old. Apartment Therapy New York | Swedish Interiors To Get You Through a Dark Winter |

sluna: such kitchen items can be found at any commercial/restaurant kitchen supply store. A mattress on the floor! The tables next to the mattress are so high up that it renders them pretty useless for a glass of water, an alarm clock or a place to set the evening reading. I would also feer getting clocked in the head by one of those dreadful urn-like things during more energetic bedroom activities. I used to live in Wisconsin and recall some restaurants had installed clear, glass-like garage doors to open up the space in summer and close it off during the cold months. These doors withstood the winter wrath. I think they were made by a company called Alaska Door or Alaska Garage Door. They are very cool and will provide a lot of natural light. More than a decade ago I bought several small boxes of very inexpensive straw Swedish ornaments at the Ikea on Long Island. They were cheap and are still going strong. I mixed them with some stands of cranberry colored wood beads that were from Wal Mart, also extremely cheap, and some pine cones scavenged from neighborhood trees.
