I am a user of 1and1.com, highly recommend them, great service and support, great packages that include domains, hosting and email. I would although recommend using google apps mail over their built in mail.

I recommend wordpress because of the vast customization and the support the CMS has. Although it is more recognized as a blogging format, it works really well for business applications. It is easy to find plugins and themes to expand the functionality of the CMS. Plugins range from socialmedia add ins to contact forms to tablet optimization. On the theme note: there are free themes available for download once wordpress is installed and there are a few companies that sell processionally built wordpress themes. Themeforest.net is a great site to find themes for wordpress, the themes range from 20-40 dollars. These themes are money worth spent because you are buying a professionally made theme and have access to support, upgrades, and installation and customization guilds. Themeforest.net recently announced they now have 1000 themes so there is plenty of themes to choose from. While purchasing a theme is optional, operating a wordpress website only comes down to the cost of you host.

I am in the process of doing this project but I can't find something to use as a rod and I don't know exactly how the one was done in the post. Can anyone help me out?
