When is the Party Over?

most recently i was in DWR wishing i had enough money to buy one of their very large mirrors where my best friend and i could barely look away - our reflections were stunning (in her case, moreso than usual). I then had to go across the street to the bank - DWR in Canada can only process cash or credit - and I caught myself on the bank security camera and nearly broke down into tears.

Also in my retail experience as a SA at BCBG, whenever a woman was umm-ing and hmm-ing over a purchase i often asked them to step out of the fitting room and look toward a different (skinny) mirror and it often closed the sale. (my apologies)

so odd that i work about 10 mins from that address and still rely on an american website to bring it to my attention.. but great to know! (any thoughts on a fantastic reupholstery place?)

the odd thing is.. i enjoy antlers, luggage details and leather.. and i still feel as though i'm being punked. i just think men need to feel as though it's ok to put thought and effort into their spaces. to think outside of the box(y 3-seater sofa). Also masculinity is a trait by nature, not by gender. There are plenty of women who prefer streamlined interiors with "no frills or fuss" that do not look as though theyre missing a lumberjack's shirt hanging from the door knob.
This is just one guys opinion.. but i dont feel like any guy that ive seen on this website - house tours and the like - would be caught dead in these rooms.. (although if they were caught dead, they'd also be rugs)

that article was definitely the push i needed for my Fornasetti plates.

i'm naturally inclined to acquiesce with the majority of the comments.. but as they have a collection of As and none of their names begin with the letter.. and mine does.. i feel as though i am welcome in their home. (is that reaching?) regardless. A+

laughing too hard @ quiltmaster's comment! and i'm inclined to acquiesce. i'm not sure what happened to actually cause this apparent faux pas.. but i'm glad it did as i've never heard of design sponge and i would have hated to miss this.

congrats on the fantastic results!

i actually just started dating a photography major around the time of his b-day.. which is fine since i like him.. a lot.. i jump the gun like that. in any case - i gave him this book.. its only $14.99 so i figured you could toss it in as a sort of stocking stuffer situation - http://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-Book-Collections-Photography-Anniversary/dp/3836501899/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1278359366&sr=1-1 - thought he'd appreciate it since it is a part of photography that's pretty much extinct now. hope this helped!

seeing the movie today. no doubt the interiors are going to be the most riveting part of the film. but after taking a look at the elle decor spread - that pillow on the right is a cushion by paul smith and the rug is marni - both for the rug company. great post!
