In theory, this meal sounds pretty healthy. In reality, I'd be extremely skeptical about the taste. Anytime you see the word "terrine" and you aren't in a fine dining restaurant, you should be expecting something along the lines of cat food. And with the picture of the casserole looking eerily like something out of a dog food can, I'm not encouraged.

The salad and the roll seem like fairly good choices...

Good article! I really need to do a purge of my kitchen gadgets, but I'm dreading it.

Just as far as the makeup part goes, though...

You really don't want to consult with a makeup person at the counter in a department store. Most of the people selling in a department store want to sell you the absolute maximum amount of product they can get you to leave with. For anyone who already might be lacking in their knowledge about makeup products, they're likely to get taken advantage of. You'd be much better off to read some minimal makeup guides online, and then go into a store with a list of what you're looking for and stick to the list.

Everyone is different, but most people who want to be fully prepared, but still keep their makeup collection small can get away with owning just a foundation, a light powder (or concealer), a mascara, a dual eyeshadow or small eyeshadow kit, and a lip gloss.

The part about throwing the older stuff away is SO IMPORTANT, so thanks for including that!

I absolutely love the rectangular tree picture above the bed!! Jealousy to the max.

I live in Missouri, and I can relate to not giving an outdoor rug more than a passing thought. Stonework would be far more practical!! The first picture is by far my favorite, and I don't think it would take very long to settle on a little design. I have a sizable yard, but it wouldn't be a huge commitment space-wise to work something like the stepping stones into one of my smaller gardening areas.

I definitely think this concept would be great to try in the new year, but instead I'm going to start on it at the beginning of February. That gives me a month to take advantage of all the after Christmas sales, and it will give me time to take care of any important projects/changes/fixes that got pushed aside because of all the holiday hubbub.

I would put a really large round mirror in that space. Preferably one with a some color or a pattern on the frame. It will open up the space and take away some of the starkness of those moldings. If you end up going with a square or rectangular mirror, get something without a frame.

You should also consider painting the square bit of wall above the fireplace in some kind of accent color (maybe a soft blue shade to bring out the marbling in the fireplace?). I think it will draw the eye upward and highlight the fireplace as the centerpiece of the room.

I'm so glad to read this article! We were pretty furious when we heard about this happening, mostly because they've increased the price already in the past year. I think we're going to keep streaming until we run out of good stuff, and then cancel all together. I'd rather just keep HBO at this point.

Well, this is definitely not the color of a honeysuckle, so that's kind of weird! I'm pretty sure I would have preferred the actual color of a buttery honeysuckle to this jarring pink-red.

I like the blue door, but the all encompassing black is a little jarring. I think the concept of having the house black is a cool and modern, but I would have liked to have seen SOME kind of accent color on the house to properly show off the architectural details.

Being from St. Louis myself, I'm wondering where exactly this apartment is in the city. We do have a lot of big spaces here compared to other towns.

The aesthetic seems a little bare for my personal taste, but it does seem like they have a lot of room to grow still. And that's always a good thing for an art collector.

I preferred the bright orange fabric chair against the exposed brick. It had pizazz!

The neutral fabric is lovely in an understated way, and it's definitely a more grown up choice for the chair. Still, I can't help but feel like it lost some of its pop factor.

Apart from that, the rest of the room is nicely styled.

I love the look of a vintage radio, especially in the kitchen. I've been on a request to find the perfect one for mine, but I just haven't stumbled across it yet.

Thanks for including some thriftier choices in the mix, too.

I'm with you guys. I just moved into my new house, and believe you me, the last thing I need to spend money on is something as insubstantial as flowers. Flowers last a week. A dresser lasts many, many years.

Even an oil diffuser would be a better suggestion, just for the simple fact that it will last longer and still smell nice.

I bought a similar kitchen cart at an antique joint out in the boonies for 8 bucks. It's slightly taller than this one, and in better shape overall, but it (sadly) doesn't have the polished metal legs. I've been meaning to redo it for a couple of years now, and this cute B/A has definitely inspired me to give it a go already!

While I agree it needed work, the end result of the staircase is way too dark and foreboding to be considered pleasant. The architectural details are totally lost now. A coordinating shade on the upper wall would have been nice. Maybe a pale sky blue or a muted lilac? The upstairs landing is definitely improved, but that's mostly thanks to the starkness of the black and white curtains.

These would have worked much better as an art installation. They just aren't practical for what they're intended for, even though the idea is cute.
