This is clearly a beautiful, elegant apartment with an ingenious use of limited space. Unfortunately, the pictures are so small it's really hard to see! Will's Family Friendly Small Space |

It really saddens me, what's happened/happening to Detroit. I think it's great that you moved from the suburbs into the city. Blakes's Guide to Downtown Detroit Detroit, Michigan |

That is an unbelievable apartment! That said, I find the decor rather drab and lifeless. It should be as spectacular as the space. Chelsea Loft Redux by Justin Shaulis House Tour |

I gotta say, it is really refreshing to see someone with a mid-century modern home NOT decorating it with mid-century furniture. Kassandra & Jon's Vintage Live-Work Home House Tour |

Although mid-century has been a very popular area of collecting for quite a few years, the pieces themselves are still only around 50-60 years old, so unless they are extremely rare, these pieces straddle the line between "antique" and just plain "used furniture". I think that might explain why the vintage pieces are often so much less expensive. But you're also talking auction prices versus retail prices. I would not be surprised to see an exceptional and early Florence Knoll 3 piece suite sell for close to $20K at a high end NYC dealer. 20th Century Furniture Design: The Scoop on Licensed Reproductions & Reissues |
