That Ikea chair is surprisingly comfortable--I slept on the couch version for a week at a beach rental and had no complaints.

At first, I thought Are you freaking kidding me--I'll break my damn leg?! But then I really looked at it, and it's just a beautiful, architecturally interesting ladder. Obviously, it's not intended for people with mobility issues or anyone else who can't use a regular ladder. I can see if I were young and lithe, and drank less wine, and were non-phobic about ladders, it would be cool.

Man, if I had kids, they'd be drinking out of the garden hose all summer like we did! No extra dishes and they build up a tolerance to BPA or whatever the hell we were ingesting back then. Kids today are too soft with their "drinking cups" and "uncontaminated water."

But seriously? Just wash their cups.

Bar soap for me in the shower: My dermatologist recommended it over liquid soap for dry skin AND I discovered that bar soap doesn't leave my washcloths with an indelible gray stain that will not come out no matter what.

At first, I thought "Oh, a spare bedroom" because we have only one. But then I realized that we deliberately sacrificed an extra room for other things that were more important to us. But one thing I do envy in other people's houses? A place to tuck away the litter box that is anywhere but under the bathroom sink.

Do you really think this a "great solution" worthy of being posted on a blog about home decor? I don't have a problem with you doing this--I've certainly turned to fixes like this. Usually my thought process was "Eh, good enough" or "Eh, I'm not putting real money/energy into solving this small problem." But I never thought they were attractive or "great." And why on earth wouldn't the guy at the hardware store tell you to use plywood, which could be painted, or Plexiglas? It's just kind of astonishing all around. Makes me wonder about Apartment Therapy's editorial process.

lellison24 and Juliejulezzzzz: I third you on the listing contents for each box. I gave each box a number, and then wrote a list of what was in it in a small notebook (the computer file is genius, though--much easier to search).

I have no kids, but I would think packing the toddler's room last/unpacking it first is probably the best bet. Little kids get very stressed by moving, too. I figure if their rooms are in disarray for the least amount of time, the happier they--and you--will be.

I've moved 7 times in 9 years, and I always set up the bed and make it as soon as possible. It makes all the difference to be able to collapse into a nicely made bed after a grueling day of moving. I also make sure we have a change of clothes for the following day in the "Unpack First" box. It makes it easier to get started either on unpacking or heading to work (yes, always delightful after a 14-hour moving day!) if you don't have to search through boxes the next morning.

I don't know the designer either, but it's from the October 2088 issue and the only info given is that it's a vintage glass-and-Lucite table from Glo in Miami.

It's pretty, though it doesn't look Danish--I'd wager American. I like the fabric a lot; it's got a midcentury feel without being kitschy. Not that I don't like me some midcentury kitsch. Why wouldn't you keep it?
