why not repurpose it? keep your toddler mattress and turn it into a toddler bed for your kid...you'll get a couple more years of use out of it and it will allow you to hold off on getting a twin size.

some of this depends on the baby....my daughter never needed gates to stay out of rooms (we just closed the doors) but she's not a good sleeper. Once she was big enough to open doors we got a gate (she couldn't open) on her bedroom door frame.
Due to the sleeping issue we also got a camera that would help us keep an eye on her when she was wandering her room at night.
For the most part...a good portion of the list you really don't need.

So I live in a 2 bdrm and my 13mth old has her crib in our bedroom but sleeps in our bed (because she wouldn't sleep through the night and we found she sleeps for longer periods of time with us in bed). She wakes up 1-2x a night and often will just drink her bottle and go right back to bed but sometimes will decide that she wants to play or jump in her crib anywhere from 1-2.5hrs until she's ready to go back to sleep. We've come to learn to live with it. She has never slept through the night and I tried the crying out thing for 2 nights and couldn't do it.
Every baby is different and I learned that you figure out what works best for you and your family and go with it. Eventually your baby will decide that she will sleep through the night. We've learned to live with it! sometimes if we get really tired my husband and I will take turns sleeping in late.

I purchased this set of two brushed nickel table lamps and have them in my bedroom (where my daughter sleeps). They are fantastic! they have 3 settings (very low, medium, and bright), are modern/stylish, go with everything and are good enough to use as your bedroom night table lights. Best of all - $20!

I purchased the peapod plus and my 7 month has slept in it at her aunts house and we will be taking it with us to Dominican Repulic in the coming months. I love it! Word to the wise: at $90 it's a bit pricey. I purchased it on craigslist for 25!

Gothic tends to be a bit pricier (for some pieces) but my sister has the flat shaker style cabinet and it is in great condition....she's had it for about 7 years! real sturdy and simple.

you can do yellow or you can do an accent wall that is orange and the rest of the room brown or vice versa.
good luck! i'm due in december and decided on one accent wall in brown and sage green for the rest of the walls.

agreed. I thought it was fascinating that more than the first half of the movie there was no dialogue but it had everyone's full attention. I think the environmental issue is obvious as well as issues about how technology is a good thing but we have the ability to make it a bad thing. It is a GREAT movie!

my younger sister trained her cat (with another product i think) and he has done great. She leaves the toilet seat up so he goes whenever he feels the urge but he will not go if someone is watching him.

My younger sister taught her cat to use the toilet!! There are easy cheap kits that help you out and they usually cost between 15-25$ No ugly literbasket or litter - can't get any friendlier than that!

The door store has a similar bed w/ a hydrolic system & leather...i have it and it's been great. I have recommended it to many and have had a real positive experience so far (going on a year this august)...and it costs the same-about 1000. Problem w/ EQ3 is that it takes so long to deliver in the states since it's imported from Canada (i waited for a piece for 3 months and it never came! p.s. don't go to the EQ3 modern living store in Howell, NJ - horrible place!)

I love the container store (used to work there) but have to be honest, many of the things they sell you can find in other places for much cheaper.

If you know who is smoking, how about knocking their door and letting them know the smoke fills up your apartment and ask them to stop. If that doesn't work then you can put something in writing to them and cc your board president. Take the issue to the top - you shouldn't have to come up with a bunch of remedies to clear someone else's stick to live comfortably in your own home.
