I second the recommendation for adding them to pita bread and falafel. Instead of adding sliced cucumber, you could make Jerusalem salad (tomatoes, cucumber, onion (?) and tahini). Also, cucumbers are great in a Pimms cup...a refreshing British cocktail.

er...I'm not loving it. My mom likes decorating with vintage kitchen utensils and things like this...I just don't get it.

RebeccaCT: I'm not sure I know what you meant by "I know too many people with food allergies to be comfortable with 'secret' ingredients." Do you feel like you're "outing" someone with food allergies because they don't have a severe immediate reaction to something you cooked with secret ingredients? If that's what you meant, that's a really scary attitude to have. Maybe you know people who mask their pickiness by claiming to have an allergy, but there are those of us with legitimate and severe allergies who rely on the kindness of their friends to be honest with them when dining together.

Put your fancy $300 stand mixer back in the cabinet and get a decent $30 (or less) handheld mixer...or a $3 whisk. Problem solved!

I love the little foil-wrapped chocolate eggs. I would unwrap them and drop them into thick brownie batter to make chocolate chunk brownies (preferably with a homemade butterscotch drizzle on top).
