I go to the Sunday Farmers Market in San Rafael, the one in this post. If parents with or without strollers were NOT there the market would be nearly empty. We make up the majority of customers at every market in this area. I think the farmers would be pretty unhappy if we stopped showing up because some people can't handle stepping around a stroller.

My husband doesn't get home until around eight so I usually feed our 4 and 1 year old around six. We rarely eat dinner together, however I do sit down with them while they eat. I've never been happy with this situation, I grew up having a family dinner every night of the week. As a result of never eating with us my 4 year old is a terrible eater and doesn't enjoy dinnertime at all. I know I need to make a change and have tried to plan better but making dinner with two little people running around is not easy!

My dad used to make us sour cream and brown sugar with strawberries. It sounds a little weird but it's so yummy!

They have something similar at my local ice cream shop. They're not vintage though.

I just bought a 1920's fixer upper and this tour was so inspiring! I love the mix of modern and vintage and the wall colors are fantastic. I especially like the bedroom, it's very simple and calm. Great job and good luck!!

xsimpletunx: What? Your comment makes no sense. Tmoore is right that by doing everyday things in a more economical and "green" way big corporations will be forced to win back these customers by changing their products to fit the demand for eco-friendly and healthier products. If everyone cloth-diapered their children I'm sure Pampers would come up with a biodegradable diaper within a year. Besides, what was so awful about the "old ways" anyway?

I have to agree with mohawkmama on this one. Parents need to chill out a bit. There is no need to prepare a newborn for visitors and really no need to prepare yourself. If the people visiting you are good friends or family, they're not going to be bothered if you are unshowered or if your house is a mess. They're there to see the baby! They are happy and excited for you and your family and it seems like a lot of people posting are very negative about visitors in general. If you don't want them to come, don't invite them.
Hospital visits are a different story. I had our friends' parents show up in my hospital room hours after the birth. They just happened to be there for something else and so they just stopped by!! Good intentions, but so inappropriate. If you're not a family member or best friend you should not be in the hospital (or home right after the birth).
