I've called the Veterans thrift store and they come to my house to pick up my junk. I'm sure other local thrift shops will too. It's awesome because you don't have to figure a way to get furniture and other bulky item to them if you live in the city or don't have a truck. I also try putting things on my curb just to see if it gets picked up, you'd be suprised what people will grab. My city will pick up 1 used appliance per household per year for free. Some people may even pick up an old washer or dryer that isn't working and sell it for scrap metal money or you could do that as well. make a few buck and be rid of that old non working appliance! yep I agree with jacksonlalonde, this wall gives me anxiety! re: the mailbox idea...... what about a row of them in a kid's room for toy storage? or......outside of an office/cubicle at a creative workplace to leave paperwork and notes for co-workers? this way nosey people wouldn't read other phone messages that are none of their buisness like they do where I work. snoops! I live in TN. and went to a festival last week end where they sold roasted corn on the cob. They had HUGE buckets of country crock (hurl) with get this wooden paint brushes stuck in them to butter your corn with. Yes, welcome to the south. I noticed the easiest way to get fur off my sofa and other fabric upholstery is a simple damp washcloth. It picks ups so much more than my vaccum and it's FREE! yes, love the living wall idea. would you reccomend plastic or canvas for that? this is lovely. Re: mixing wood furniture with different tones, I read that it's ok, but if you should have at least 2 pieces in the different tone to keep it from looking like a flea market. I do that shaker of parmesan BUT and this is where it gets really "white trash" I spray PAM cooking spray on it first so the parm will stick. I love the print! impressive how the waves/water in the print are almost identical to the ones in the headboard! I think it may be a bit too small, but would look great in a bedroom or maybe accross the room from the sofa instead of right next to it. I think an area rug with reds and browns, etc may really help the furniture pop more. the piana is lovely :) Is New Chair Too Small Next to Big Sofa? BEWARE! a friend of mine owns rentals and they went to detach/remove one just like this (per teneants request)and EVERYTHING in his apt. was covered in soot! Apparantly there was a big black cloud of it brewing in the chimney! We all chipped in to wash/clean all his laundry, bedding and slipcovers. It was a MESS! Permanantly damaging some things.
