I am currently attempting this project - Home Depot sells clean, empty paint can for about $1/piece. What was not clear in the Readymade article however, was how to create a hole in the back of the paint can to slide the S-hook into (like the herb cans, not the one hanging from it's handle). I tried to drill a hole into one of the cans but the material was too strong. I barely dented it. Any thoughts?

I love this look - but my favorite part has to be the plant next to the tub! I wonder if she put it there just for the photo, or if it's there all the time. Great idea.

I agree with all of your wonderful suggestions and have used Scan Cafe to scan in all of my old hard copies. The only thing is, I hate the look and feel of digital photo albums. Feels corporate, not homey. There is nothing better than an old photo album with black paper pages, filled with small black & white (or color) square photos, with a white border and jagged edges.

For storage, digital photos is the way to go.
For enjoyment, I prefer the old-school prints.

Does anyone know of a service that will PRINT OUT (and/or use already existing prints) photos and then create a photo album with the prints?

My birthday is on Sunday and I want to decorate my nearly empty living room into a cozy moroccan style den/tea-salon for a party with close friends. Floor pillows, low tables, rugs, fabrics, candles, very warm - you get the idea.

Any ideas of shops I can go to in NYC where I can gather some of this stuff, cheaply?

My kitchen flooring is cream-colored ceramic tile. It gets so dirty, so fast - shows every drop of dirt and is so hard to clean. And ugly!

I have been thinking about installing cork flooring for a while now. How easy is it to clean? Does it show a lot of dirt? Can you vacuum it easily?

Best paper shredder EVER:

Fellowes PS-77Cs

Not sure where I bought it, I think Staples.com for around $100.

One of favorite purchases for all time, for so many reasons:

- I look forward to getting my mail each day b/c I go directly to my shredder and shred all the junk (without even opening it!). Then I shred the envelopes of impt. bills and letters. Then I just put the bills in my "To Do" box until I am ready to deal with them. Then I don't have mail lying around all the time!

-I also just drop catalogs & magazines I don't want into the bin (no need to shred them). Feels good to get them out of the way.

-I like that I am able to easily recycle all the ridiculous paper (receipts, etc) that comes into my life every day (amazing how fast it fills up!).

-So easy to load and unload (make sure you line it with a garbage bag first).

-Never jams - except once, when I put about 20 pages in a once. Then it just took a long time to push it through.

Enjoy!

ps - thinking of giving it as future wedding presents . . .
