I love Pioneer Woman for a really accessible approach to cooking. Most of her recipes are ones you would want to eat for dinner on a regular basis, not fancy 4-course meals with exotic and expensive ingredients.

Best Food Blogs For Novice Cooks? Good Questions

For those asking about the type of pan, I don't know what they suggest using but I have an angel food pan with a removable center that turns into a cheesecake pan of sorts. I have no idea where it's from (I think my mom gave it to me when I moved to college) but it may be worth searching for. I wouldn't trust its leak-proof capabilities for an actual cheesecake, but it would probably work for the purposes of this cake/crust.

The bar would be a great idea, but she said that it was positioned behind the sofa, making the bottom half unusable presumably, so I don't think all of the suggestions about installing a mini fridge would work.

I'm not sure how much space you need, if you want all of the months displayed at once vs a monthly flip calendar, etc., but Paper Source has a couple of cute monthly ones (http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/office/calendars/all.html). There's also the fall-back dry erase calendars (http://www.etsy.com/listing/82198911/dry-erase-wall-calendar-with-memo-dry?ref=sr_gallery_7&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=wall+calendar&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_ship_to=US&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade)

If you print small, this one is pretty neat: http://www.etsy.com/listing/81381565/2012-large-wall-calendar-poster-squares?ref=sr_gallery_2&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=wall+calendar+large&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_ship_to=US&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

Last but not least, you can write on ceramic tiles (the kind you can buy super cheap at Home Depot) with dry erase markers. If you buy 35 tiles for a 5x7 calendar and find a frame to fit them (maybe a cork board that they'll settle into?), you can create your own.

If you do a google search for "long octagonal mirror," it comes back with several similar options. This one has an oval shaped mirror, but the outside edge is still in a shape similar to what you're looking for.

If you're handy with tools, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to build and you can get a glass shop to cut a mirror in the shape you want.

Office Depot sells a similar line of trays, mail sorters, pencil cups, etc. to the Action trays. I couldn't find them on the website, but I see them in the store all the time.

Freshman dorm: 1 set of 2 outlets on the end of the light at the top of the mirror. For 2 girls with 2 hair dryers and 2 straighteners to share. Also fun was when the roommate and her friend blew out the circuits... twice. PS - the microwave works as a mirror for fixing your hair in the kitchen.

Senior year apartment: check for cable outlets in the bedrooms. For a 2-bed apartment, the only cable outlet was in the living room. It was an old building, so the building manager told us to call the cable company, but they wouldn't pay for the upgrades. Needless to say, I watched lots of DVDs and Hulu that year.

Definitely Stonyfield... all flavors and sizes, I don't discriminate. It's organic and has the thick texture of greek yogurt but isn't too sour. After seeing a lot of rave reviews, I purchased several flavors of Siggi's when it was on sale, but they were all hard to choke down and I had to mask the taste with granola and honey.

I just tried this with 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce, a few tablespoons of Garlic Expressions vinaigrette, and enough Worcestershire sauce to bring it all up to a half cup, finished with a good sprinkling of garlic powder. It's super flavorful and smells amazing while it's marinating!

A Google search for a clawfoot surround shower curtain comes up with a lot of answers, though most are for liners as opposed to pretty curtains.

Though, now that I think about it, you could put in a liner and almost use any window curtain as the outer layer. Good luck!

I put cakes and cupcakes on a cake pedestal and cover it with glass. The last time I did this (with banana dewberry bread), the loaf wasn't completely cooled and there was a lot of moisture inside. The bottom got soggy and it was inedible after a couple of days... but I ate a lot of it early on so there wasn't much left :)

Additionally, if an item has sold, take down the ad! There's little more annoying than finding a deal you've been searching for high and low, emailing the seller, then never getting a response.
