Very curious about the wood flooring over the tile. We live in a rental (galley kitchen) with horribly ugly cracked tile. I didn't know you could put flooring over tile! (I've resorted to swapping out indoor/outdoor runners to cover the tile as much as possible, but they start to look bad very quickly with 2 little kids running around spilling things.) Can't wait to hear more and see the results!

for those not wanting pink pink - we painted our bedroom in Ben Moore Savory Cream - I thought it was going to be beigey - but it is every so slightly pink. A warm cozy pink beige that changes during the day. It's lovely.

Martha Stewart recipes are notoriously untested. They cycle through so many every month between the show, the website, the magazines... no way to test them all.

We had one in the bathroom when I was growing up - in the shower! It hung on the wall opposite the shower head, so it got just enough mist/steam every day to keep it happy (there was a window in the bathroom). It was really lovely.

I'm not sure I would consider the Alessi prices "not more than C&B and WS" It's a little pricey for me for everyday when you have kids around.

Sink is smaller version of Lillangen:

(And I still maintain that there's nothing terribly exciting about seeing Trofast storage...)

Some of this stuff is in the stores already. I bought that wall mounted white lamp in Feb or March. That bendy lamp has been around a while. And that sink is just a smaller version of an existing one, with same accessories (looked at ithe larger one last weekend, actually). I don't see a lot that's new. Or exciting.

We have white floors in our apartment - glossy/oil paint. The problem isn't with cleaning them it's with scratches that happen in the paint - the dirt gets pushed in and mopping doesn't do anything. So when you mop you get a white floor with lots of dirty scratches. Magic Eraser helps but it buffs out the "shine" of the oil paint. NExt time I'd go with pickling.

we just had a similar problem with twin size beds and new mattresses. the first mattresses we bought had a 3 in gap, took it back and they measured 1" shorter than the label indicated. Measured several different twins on showroom floor and they varied in width by about 3" overall. The shpiel from the salesman is that the size indicated is a "guide" and can vary 2-3 inches. Hmmm. Seems ridiculous. Didn't have this problem with the ikea mattress we bought and bedframe not from ikea.

I love that Micki bed, but it's not available for shipping to the US. And the mattress is a standard European size, not American. It is exactly what I wanted though. Impossible to find something simple, clean, low profile like that here in the US.

Haven't had a microwave in 15 years. Haven't missed it at all. Even when warming bottles for 2 babies (only takes a minute on a stovetop). Leftovers go in a saute pan or steamed.

I agree with aemorgan. The scavenger posts are pretty uninteresting and unhelpful.

From the exposed screws, I would bet the bed is from Ikea.

Everything looks more organized when you take stuff out. I'd like to see a before and after when it has the same items both times. Not weeded out. (Because in our kitchen, we've maxed out every space - so if jarred spaghetti sauce or sippy cups don't fit in a lovely modular dry-goods cabinet, there's no where else to put them...

White or black, definitely. And some open shelving to break up the space a little - I like the idea of to the left of the fridge, but maybe you can't lose those drawers?

And a black and white striped cotton runner on the floor.

Vintage paper parade made us some custom birthday invites for our daughter, and we bought cupcake toppers as well. They were really great.
